Experienced project delivery

Herbert has a wealth of experience in delivering projects of all sizes, including service delivery, installation, configuration and hardware projects within the retail industry.

Our project management capability is well-developed, and we have a number of PRINCE2 trained project managers and all our projects are run using PRINCE2 methodology which includes detailed Scopes of Works, Work Instructions, Risk Assessments and Issue Logs.

Also part of the success of our project management depends upon effective communication between ourselves and the customer. During large projects Herbert hold daily conference calls with relevant customer personnel to ensure that the project is running smoothly and to allow any issues to be dealt with as soon as possible.

Additionally, checkpoint meetings are held to review progress against specific timetabled milestones. On completion of projects we complete a ‘Wash-Up’ which allows us to reflect on all aspects of the project, so that we can ensure continual professional development.

Servicing and SupportWe offer national field service coverage, with highly skilled and trained staff who are SAFEcontractor accredited, and dedicated to installation, fault diagnosing and fixing weighscales, EPOS, Mobile Computing Devices, Food Handling Equipment, People Counters, Podia Furniture, Electronic Shelf Edge Labels and Software solutions.

Depending on agreed customer requirements, our work can cover installation, rollout, staging and configuration for ‘Gold Build’ mobile devices and break-fix to keep assets running. We also have an internal repair team for a variety of ‘Return-To-Base’ products, with an average repair time of just 1.5hours

Working to Incident Management & Problem ITIL v2/3, our service vehicles carry over 250 items for first time fix, with a FTF of 97%, and all vehicles are fitted with trackers to ensure optimum allocation of resources when incidents occur.

Service CentreWe align our call desk processes to work alongside customer call desks (where applicable), to ensure that our response time is within the agreed service levels. Details of all service calls are logged and maintained on our system, and are used for reporting.

Interrogation on any of these criteria is possible to give accurate real-time performance statistics. Our skilled team average 200 national in-bound calls per day, our continuous improvement programme ensures the best possible service at all times

Our triage process at helpdesk first level, ensures that no-fault found can be immediately identified.

Quality ManagementOur quality management process covers all aspects of our business. Our continuous improvement process runs throughout the supply chain and is based on a Total Quality approach which utilises a combination of the best elements of the Juran, Demming and Crosby methodologies ensuring business decisions are fact based, focused at the required areas, and co-ordinated and implemented so that our customers and ourselves get maximum benefit.

Continuous Improvement is encouraged and supported throughout the business with personnel trained to perform their functions within a team environment and to constantly look for process and quality improvement and efficiency.

All standard software can be installed along with any Registry changes. This would generally be a completely automated process based on information held on our core system.
