Things you need to know

We are Herefordshire Activities Together, a group of local providers who

offer interesting things to do for anyone of any age or ability. We are all

different and all work in different ways. You will need to check if we are

right for you. Some of the things you will need to think about include:

Money

Charges vary depending on what you are doing and who with. You need

to check the cost and how to pay before you book. There are a number of

ways to pay for activities and you need to use your money in the way that

suits you. If you have a Personal Budget or Direct Payment you may use it

to pay for activities or courses.

Food and Transport

Hot drinks are provided at most activities, but you will probably need to

bring your own lunch. A few activities provide transport, but mostly you will

need to find your own way to your chosen activity.

Support

If you have personal care or extra support needs, you may need to bring

your own support worker. Please check with your chosen provider.

Page 22: Herefordshire Activities Brochure

22

What if I can’t find what I am looking for?...

…We can help you to do something different! Is there something you would really like to do but can’t find anywhere to do it?

Do you have an idea but don’t know where to start?

Whatever it is you want to do, many of the organisations in this leaflet can work with you to put your ideas into action.

We may be able to set up some taster sessions to try

out your idea

We can support you to get involved in

volunteering

We can find you a buddy to help you get more

involved in your local community.

We can help you to pool some of your personal

budget to do something interesting with people who

share your ideas. Just like this group did. They joined

together to set up Our News Our Views. So, if you

can’t find what you want, just ask and we may be able to help.

Contact any of the groups inside and we will make sure you are put in

touch with the right organisation to help you. Or send us an email:

[email protected]
