Come and do something different this weekend and explore Wokingham'sbeautiful Town Hall (and all that lies within) as part of Heritage Open Days!

We have artefacts, wonderful photographs of past and present, plus activitiesand competitions for children.

See the civic silver in person and find outmore by browsing the Virtual Museum.

Have you heard of the Ellison Casket?Come and discover who Mr Ellisonwas on this, the one hundredthanniversary of his death.

Main HallExplore Wokingham through a series of then andnow photographs and other displays. If you missedlast years First World War exhibition, why not takethis opportunity to visit Wokingham's war memorialand learn about some of the men's stories.

Local historians will also be on hand to talk aboutWokingham history, and help answer your questions.

For the children we have a quiz, competitions, craftsand prizes!

Refreshments available.

Mayor’s Parlour

Access via the internet kiosk in the Information Centre, or via your tablet orsmart phone when in the Town Hall.

WIFI: “polkaspots” password: heritage

If you prefer to sit and relax why not grab a cup of tea and watch theaudio-visual tour of the Town Hall.

Take a look inside the Mayor's Parlour and see paintings of the old Guildhall,which used to be where the Town Hall is now.

Each year Wokingham Town Council opens the Town Hall tothe public offering free access as part of Heritage Open Days.

We hope you will enjoy the information and activities at thisyears event, looking at some key moments in the Town Hall’sand Wokingham’s past.

Launched last year a Heritage Memorial Trail, incommemoration of the Centenary of World War 1,captured details of all the memorials across theWokingham Borough inside a commemorativebrochure for all to read. Copies are available from theWokingham Town Hall.

Exhibition stands about the memorials and some of thefallen men were created. If you would like to view anyof these, please contact your local parish to find outmore.
