In Bap sm we are reborn as children of God, made mem-bers of His Church, and heirs to the Kingdom of Heaven. With this in mind, we welcome these children of God who were bap-tized August 4, 2019: Valeria Massiel Castillo Aguilar daughter of Car los & Josheline; Brenda Naomi Colocho Chavarria daughter of Daniel & Brenda; Kaylor Barmore Marquez Rivera daughter of Kevin & Kar la; Allan Gilberto Montoya Alcerro son of Santos & Heidie; Brianna Portillo daughter of Oscar & Evelyn; Bryan Aiden Vidal Bonilla son of Billy & Jennifer ;

Dear Saint Joseph Parish community, As you may have heard in the announcement last week, I have been asked to serve the Province of the Most Sacred Heart (the friars), as the new Vocations Director, living at Franciscan Univer-sity of Steubenville, in Steubenville, Ohio. I am very excited to take on this new ministry of re-cruiting and assisting young men in discerning if God is calling them to join us as friars of the Third Order Regular. At the same time, I am sad to be leaving the community I have come to know and love at Saint Joseph. Due to requirements of various other assign-ments, my last day of ministry at Saint Joseph will be August 11th. Yes, this Sunday. Because of the late notice and tight schedule, I will certainly not be able to offer a proper goodbye to all of you. Please accept my apologies in this. Most of all, please accept my gratitude for being such a wonderful community of faith and hospitality. I truly enjoyed getting to know all of you and I offer my prayers for you all. Many thanks! Peace and good, Fr. Vince, T.O.R.

Peace and good! The friars of the Franciscan Third Order Reg-ular, Province of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus gathered in Loretto, Pennsylvania in July for a Provincial Chapter of the Whole. For the second time since its establishment, the entire membership of the Province met in Chapter to elect their Pro-vincial leadership. During the Chapter, the friars reflected up-on and discussed the essential elements of their lives: Francis-can penitential spirituality, prayer and life in the local/regional communities, formation and ongoing formation of the friars, the ministries which they are called to as a community, etc. We share the following particular assignments that were made after the Province Chapter of the Whole: Director of Vocations – Fr. Vincent Yeager – Holy Spirit Friary, Steubenville, OH Director of Postulants – Fr. Patrick Whittle – St. Louis Friary, Washington, DC Diocese of Arlington, Virginia Saint Joseph Catholic Church – Herndon, VA Father Thomas Bourque Pastor Father David Dodd Parochial Vicar Father Alberto Bueno Parochial Vicar We offer our prayers and support to Father Vince as he begins his ministry as Director of Vocations for our Province. Father Vince, know that your gifts, talents, and presence will be missed by our faith community and the friars. We also offer our prayers and support to Father Pat as he be-gins his ministry as a Provincial Councilor and continues his ministry as: Director of Postulants; Doctoral Candidate at CUA; and weekend assistant here at SJC. Father Pat, know that we appreciate you sharing your gifts, talents, and presence with our faith community and the friars. We thank our parishioners for their prayers for the Friars as they gathered to participate in their Provincial Chapter of the Whole. Know that we are grateful for your prayers and sup-port.
