YBhg. Dato’ Dr. Ir. Johari bin Basri Senior Independent Non-Executive Director Sunway Construction Dato’ Dr. Ir. Johari bin Basri graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from University Technology Malaysia in 1977 and obtained his MSc. in Terotechnology from Manchester University, United Kingdom in 1984 and PhD. in Process Safety from the University of Sheffield, United Kingdom in 1997. In 1977, Dato’ Dr Ir Johari Bin Basri joined the Factories and Machinery Department of Malaysia as a Factories and Machinery Inspector (engineer). The Department was responsible to enforce safety regulations on various sectors of industries such as construction, manufacturing, and mining. In 1983, Dato’ Dr. Ir. Johari bin Basri was awarded the Malaysian Government scholarship and study leave to pursue the MSc programme. He obtained his MSc. in Terotechnology from Manchester University, United Kingdom in 1984. In the same year, he returned to Malaysia to resume his services at the Factories and Machinery Department of Malaysia. Dato’ Dr. Ir. Johari bin Basri was awarded the Malaysian Government scholarship and study leave to pursue the PhD programme in 1994. He obtained his PhD in Process Safety from the University of Sheffield, United Kingdom in 1997. In the same year, he returned to Malaysia to resume his services at the Factories and Machinery Department which was then renamed the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) of Malaysia as Director of Industrial Safety Division. In 2000 and 2004, Dato’ Dr. Ir. Johari bin Basri was seconded from DOSH to be the Executive Director of National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) Malaysia. He was the Executive Director of NIOSH Malaysia for years 2000 – 2002 and 2004 – 2007. In between that period, he returned to DOSH and assumed the role of Director General where he was responsible for the overall planning and implementation of the core activities of DOSH, namely enforcement, standard setting and promotional activities. Concurrently during his tenure in NIOSH Malaysia from 2004 to 2007, he was the Executive Director of ASEAN-OSHNET, the regional grouping of ten (10) ASEAN member countries working together towards improving the safety and health of the workers. In 2007, he returned to DOSH to resume the role of Director General until his retirement in June 2014. He was also a member of the board of directors of NIOSH (2007 – 2014), board of member of CIDB (2007 – 2014), Chairman for the Industrial Standard Committee of Occupational Safety and Health (ISCW) SIRIM Berhad (2007 – 2014) and Member for Malaysian National Standards Committees (MyNSC) Standards Malaysia (2007 – 2014). Dato’ Dr. Ir. Johari bin Basri is a Fellow of the Institute of Engineers Malaysia (IEM), Associate Fellow of The Institution of Chemical Engineer (U.K), a Professional Engineer registered with the Board of Engineers Malaysia, member of Malaysian Gas Association (MGA), member of The Japan International Cooperation Agency Alumni Society of Malaysia (MyJICA) and a life member of The Malaysian Society for Occupational Safety and Health (MSOSH).

YBhg. Dato’ Ir. Mohtar bin Musri Member of Board of Directors Malaysia Highway Authority Dato Ir Mohtar Musri graduated from the University of Nottingham in Mechanical Engineering in 1982. In 1991, he continued his studies for Master in Work Design and Ergonomics from the University of Birmingham, England. There is where his interest in occupational safety and health begin developing as a career. Appointed as the Director General of the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) in 2014 was his highest achievement in safety and health field before his retirement in 2018. As a Director General, he was responsible towards the overall planning and implementation of core business of DOSH namely enforcement, standard setting and promotional activities in Malaysia. Prior to this, he was the Deputy Director General (Operations) DOSH from 1st April 2009 to 31st August 2014, Director of DOSH Selangor from 2004-2007 and 2008-2008, Director of Industrial Safety Division, DOSH HQ from 2007-2008, Project Director UNDP/DOSH from 2001-2003 and Director of DOSH WP Kuala Lumpur from 1999-2001. Until now, he is still actively contributing his vast experience and knowledge as a board member and advisor to a few companies and he is also a Board of Director for Malaysia Highway Authority or LLM.

Dato’ Sri Dr. Mohammed Azman bin Aziz Mohammed Chief Executive Officer Social Security Organisation Dato’ Sri Dr. Mohammed Azman bin Aziz Mohammed is the CEO of Social Security Organisation (SOCSO). The first medical doctor employed by SOCSO, Dr. Mohammed Azman has instituted various changes and innovations to enhance SOCSO’s commitment in occupational safety and health, commuting accident prevention programme, disability management and employee health promotion. He spearheaded SOCSO’s Return to Work Programme and was also directly involved in the establishment of SOCSO’s Rehabilitation Centre. Under his leadership, SOCSO has expanded its social security coverage to the self-employed and foreign workers. Dr. Mohammed Azman is also instrumental in various SOCSO’s initiatives that have gained scores of international and local recognitions.

YBhg. Datuk Hj. Shamsuddin bin Bardan Executive Director Malaysian Employers Federation As the Executive Director of Malaysian Employers Federation (MEF), Datuk Hj. Shamsuddin is entrusted with the full responsibilities of administrating the organization. MEF is the apex private sector employers’ organization in Malaysia with more than 5,300 ordinary members and 22 association members. The members of MEF employ more than 2.1 million employees. Datuk Hj. Shamsuddin heads the MEF Secretariat with a team consisting of 30 professional staff and 20 support staff. As the Executive Director of MEF, Datuk Hj. Shamsuddin recommends policies to be pursued by MEF in ensuring that the private sector in Malaysia operates in a more business friendly environment so as to ensure the private sector employers remain competitive. Policies to be pursued by MEF are formulated by the secretariat and after approval by the Council will be submitted to various authorities to ensure that the policies of the Government would not inhibit the vibrancy of the private sector employers. The efficient and effective work of Datuk Hj. Shamsuddin in managing MEF was internationally and regionally recognized when he was appointed as the Secretary-General of Confederation of Asia Pacific Employers (CAPE) and Secretary-General of ASEAN Confederation of Employers (ACE) (2013 – 2015). Dr Priya Ragunath is a fellow of the Faculty of Occupational Medicine, Royal College of Physicians Ireland. She is a Public Health Physician as well as an Occupational Physician. She is currently the Head of the Occupational and Environmental Health Sector in the Ministry of Health, Malaysia. Dr Priya is also the Chairman of the Society of Occupational and Environmental Medicine (SOEM) under the Malaysian Medical Association (MMA) as well as the Vice Secretary of the Society of Occupational Physicians (MSOP). She is also an examiner and lecturer for the Licentiate and Membership Program (LFOM, MFOM) of the Faculty of Occupational Medicine, Royal College of Physicians, Ireland. Currently, she is the Focal Point for Occupational Health for Malaysia in the ASEAN Cluster 1 group. Dr Priya is a committee member of the National Council of Occupational Safety and Health (NCOSH) as well as is a committee member of the Industrial Standard Committee of Occupational Safety and Health, SIRIM. She also serves as a committee member of the Ex Gratia Compensation Committee (Ministry of Finance) and Social security Organization (SOCSO) Appellate Board. She has served in Ministry of Health (MOH), Malaysia for over 20 years and has been involved in Occupational Health for more than half her service. She has participated in various International and National collaborations with various public and private agencies and is also involved in the development of numerous guidelines pertaining to Occupational Health in the Ministry of Health. Dr Priya has also presented in various International and National conferences and is also a mentor of the DrPh students from University Malaya (UM), University Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) and University Putra Malaysia (UPM) whom she has supervised. She is actively involved in training and has also been the Occupational Health Trainer for the Ministry of Health, Brunei Darussalam. As the Head of the Occupational and Environmental Health Sector, Dr Priya is in charge of occupational health in all the Ministry of Health facilities as well as in assisting DOSH in the reporting of occupational diseases by the MOH medical practitioners. She is also responsible for all the environmental health programs managed by MOH working closely with the Ministry of National Resources and Department of Environment, Malaysia. Dr Priya is in charge of the KOSPEN PLUS program which is a program focused on wellness at the workplace. The program aims at reducing the impact of non-communicable diseases (NCD’s) by carrying out various activities at the workplace. The activities include screening, referral for further management, initiating preventive programs and follow up of employee’s health annually. The components of the program include NCD screening, healthy eating, active living, weight management, smoke free workplace, healthy mind, healthy work environment and prevention of alcohol morbidity. The program is conducted in the Ministry of Health (MOH), Malaysia and is also offered to other government and private organizations such as DOSH, SOCSO, TNB, Petronas, Pos Malaysia, Lembaga Tabung Haji, Pharmaniaga and other agencies where MOH provides the technical input and training for the organizations empowering them to carry out the program themselves.

YBhg. Datuk Dr Abd Hapiz Abdullah Chairman Chemical Industries Council of Malaysia Datuk Dr Abd Hapiz Abdullah is currently the Chairman of Chemical Industries Council of Malaysia (CICM). He joined CICM as a member of the Executive Committee in 1997 and had served as the Chairman of the Responsible Care Committee before elected as Chairman of the Council in 2009. From the beginning till present, most of his time and contribution to the Council are in the areas of continuous improvement of health, safety and environment performance of the industry through the Responsible Care initiative; a global voluntary programme which is also the flagship activity of CICM since 1994. He graduated with a Doctor of Philosophy in Organic Chemistry from Utah State University, USA and a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from University of Nevada, USA. He had more than 30 years of experience in management, marketing, business development and technical in the chemical manufacturing industry. He began his career at Dow Chemical Malaysia holding a regional role and then moved to DuPont Malaysia as the Managing Director. He took on the role of President / CEO of PETRONAS Chemicals Group Berhad in 2011 and retired in 2014. Azhar Ahmad bin Ahmed Rifaie Chairman Northern Region Group – Safety, Health and Environment Encik Azhar graduated in Chemical Engineering from the University of Utah, USA and completed his Master’s in Business Administration from UUM. He is currently a member of Global EHS at Teleflex Corporation, a medical device company from the USA. In his 24 years of professional experience, he had served at several MNCs in various technical and management roles. Prior to a career in EHS, Encik Azhar was a Project Engineer with a US engineering firm providing facilities systems and management. In 1998 he started his EHS career that expands from local to regional and global where he has been responsible in ensuring safe plant constructions and operations, providing global and regional support to multiple sites in Asia, Europe and the USA. Ong Chee Tat National Deputy President SME Association of Malaysia

Mr Ong Chee Tat is the National Deputy President of SME Association of Malaysia, and the founder of Goodlife (M) Sdn Bhd. Mr Ong was previously a medical research officer. He left civil service after many years of enduring its bureaucracy and after a brief stint in direct selling, decided he could start a distribution business of his own. In 1979, he founded Goodlife (M) Sdn Bhd to distribute car care products for international brands in Malaysia, including the US-based brand Perma Glass (PG). Goodlife bought over PG not long after, making it a locally-owned brand. Goodlife is now manufacturing its own products for its brands PG, PG Pro, Q Plus and Tupps. Goodlife Elastomer (M) Sdn Bhd, the subsidiary of Goodlife (M) Sdn Bhd, is manufacturing rubber products. Mr Ong involves actively in the promotion of SME sector. Before that he headed the Management Sector, CIDB Malaysia where he was responsible for the Strategic Management, Human Resource, Information Mgt, Financial and Asset Mgt of CIDB. At industry and national level, he’s very actively involved with activities of standardization for the construction industry through Standards Malaysia. He is also involved in the academic Advisory Panel of Engineering Faculty of various universities (UiTM, USM, UKM, Universiti Teknologi Petronas). MUSTAFFA KAMAL BIN ABU BAKAR was appointed Chief Operating Officer of

the Group on 10 October 2014. He joined the Group in 2001 as Director,

WORK EXPERIENCES

Jul 2011 – Present / Senior Manager ESH / SD Plantation Heads the PSQM – ESH Unit with a team of 50 people (during peak time) located at both the HQ & region. Responsible for managing ESH matters for the Sime Darby Plantation Division, ie Sime Darby Plantation Sdn Bhd, a merged entity of Sime Darby, Golden Hope & Guthrie and now Sime Darby Plantation Berhad. SDP operations span over 20 countries and involved more than 100 000 workers. Tasks include planning and strategizing for ESH development & improvement for the Plantation Division in line with the sustainability goals of achieving zero harm to people, planet and profit, enhancing ESH risk management, coordination of ESH development & implementation between Sime Darby Group and SDP operating units, consolidating and reporting of monthly, quarterly and annual ESH performance to the Management & Board, while managing operational ESH issues within the Division.
