@Gwen: You can post a published demo on your own blog, website or Google Drive and then share the link in the specific challenge. Please send me a note: [email protected] and I'll send you some ideas. Will we be able get a recording of this session
David A: I heard Google Drive is shutting down the host option in the near future
@June yes, we are recording today's session and will send the link after the recordingDavid Glow: You're so right about that! Google Drive will no longer be an option for hosting
David if we were unable to attend other webinars this week would we be able to get links for those as well? My schedule couldn't make it happen this week.Thank youTom's breakdown is great here. Clicks in mouse vs clicks in minds. Both can be leveraged effectively if you are clear on purpose.
how do you post a published demo? I can't get mine to show up after they are publishedarticulate online is good for thisGood evening from Thailand
@Jennifer Thompson -‐ Yes, we can send you one or all recorded webinars so you can view when you like. Just send me a note: [email protected] hover and drag work okay for learners on tablets?Ady-‐ it will be interesting to see "hover" with the new Apple touch features and pressure sensitivityIf I have to go early will I still get the email of the full stream?"Novel wears off quickly"-‐ Truth from Tom@Sara -‐ Are you asking how to publish for the ELearning Challenges or just publishing in general for learners?I created a mini course and want to post it to my own website. I can't figure out how to do it
@Jamie -‐ yes, all registered participants will receive a link to the recordingHello from DubaiGood Morning from Kalamazoo, MIawesome, thanksUnfortunately I cannot attend tomorrow due to business appointments. Any change I could get the recorded webinar?
Did Tom's screen freeze? I don't see the example he's speaking to.was the front screen done onpowerpoint or on storylinei see his screenGood Morning From Denver, Colorado
@Sara Krauskopf: Here's some general info on uploading to a website: http://www.articulate.com/support/storyline-‐2/how-‐to-‐upload-‐published-‐content-‐to-‐a-‐server If you need specific help, can you post your question in the forums so we can look at your needs?scaffoldingYes, thank you.
@Leonora -‐ Which front screen? The screen with all the small slides in a branching view?@Sara Thank you!Hello! I did not received the meetings invites even though I had signed up for the class. Can you send me the next sessions?the first on click anywhere on screen with the big ear@ Pharah, me too
Is there support information how to upload to specific LMS'?Okay works now, sorry!
How was that player designed to get the text at the bottom like that?
Valarie W-‐ that's really on your LMS. I have one that only takes SCORM1.2, another that works best with AICC, another that does SCORM 2004 but only to v2...
@Denise Which screen? The comic book project Tom's showing right now?Now the frame is frozenThe inner ear drag and drop. :)
@Valerie It will depend on your LMS but here is the general process for publishign to LMS https://community.articulate.com/series/articulate-‐storyline-‐2/articles/publishing-‐a-‐course-‐for-‐lmsTHey want to see what changes. And for LMSs, I cannot more highly suggest pre-‐testing with SCORMCloud (article posted in Articulate forums)Do the drags work on ipads?HEY THE WINNER!@Denise -‐ The player controls were removed and the text navigation buttons were added to the actual slideThat's nifty! Great idea.
@Denise: Here's how it works: https://community.articulate.com/articles/make-‐articulate-‐storyline-‐player-‐invisibleJ Whedon from Cañon City, Colorado
Are we going to see how to build some of this interaction with Storyline today?thats awesome@Kasey Yes, we'll dive into Storyline in a few minutesHow do you make a slider 508 Compliant? Can you lock the slider so that all parts have to be visited before the next button can be clicked?@Brett Totally agree! Jerson really opened up some amazing opportunities with that exampleGreat ideas for the user interaction!Kendra Barker, I do that by using variables.Kendra -‐ Yes you can , you can hide the next button on Show, then show it when slider reaches a set point
Love that you can make the slider appear with various different looks...
Newbie here, but this all looks awesome! Any intro articles anyone would suggest?Kendra-‐ you can set in SL2 for "next" to be off until certain conditions are met (may take states or variables)Variables scare me.will a recording of this e provided?variables are your friend Kendra
@Patrice -‐ The sliders will work in HTML5 but that doesn't mean they're the best choice for special needs learners. I'll let Tom speak to some of the options. These look great -‐ are there templates available?@Kendra As each position is visited, I change variable to 1, then test condition of all variables to make NEXT button availableThanks Shawn!I've been using Articulate since 2007 and I am WOWed!Kendra-‐ Stephanie H's book is great to get started with variablesnod nod nod -‐ very new@chad https://community.articulate.com/discuss<-‐-‐-‐Newbiethanks Justin! Also the tutorials on the heroes site on variables is excellentIt's a great forum...yes... Heroes site is [email protected] is the name of the book?hi! Will there e a recording provided of this?@Pharah Yes today's session is being recordedthanks! :)hello from denver@Kendra -‐ Which book?
The sliders are great, but is it 508 compliant? If not, is there a workaround?I haven't used the slider feature yet but am really looking forward to using it in the futureStephanie H's book you mentioned.
How many different interactions do you suggest using in an individual course?David Gloe...
508 compliance means your course can't be interactive in essenceglowBOOK: Stephanie Harnett http://www.amazon.com/Learning-‐Articulate-‐Storyline-‐Stephanie-‐Harnett/dp/1849694222
ThanksThanks David-‐ I just went to look that up.
Stephanie did some neat things in her book. It's very project-‐based.@David Thanks for the book info for variables and suchThe uncovered series is also very goodhttp://www.amazon.com/E-‐Learning-‐Uncovered-‐Articulate-‐Diane-‐Elkins/dp/1475298994/ref=pd_bxgy_14_img_y
Michael B-‐ 508 doesn't mean that. It just means you have to work with assistive tech. SL actually has a good panel to add 508 compliance elements.how did he get the outlined character? The grayed out one?
@Paul -‐ The sliders are HTML5 compliant but depending on the types of 508 needs, you may decide they're not the best option. I"ve captured your question and will ask Tom to speak to some more considerationsIs there a way to make buttons 3d
@Sylvia yes using the Drop shadow feature you can make 3D buttons. Another option is to use bitmap images created in graphic program@Sylvia... there are built in buttons, but you can import ANY image and use it as a button... and import multiple states
Vanessa, you can change the images and add effects on the different statesThanks to the mods for the plethora of links!are we going to get this webinar later on as recorded?
@Vanessa -‐ you can add a state in Edit States. right click on the picture and select "format". There is a built-‐in black and white washthank youThanks David and Justin
@ilteris yes, the webinar is being recorded and you'll receive a link after the sessionIf it's just you-‐ you can be sloppy, but if you work in a team, you probably want to clean up a bit ;)PROPS: David Glow for helping out in this super-‐busy webinarThe drop shadow is okay, just not quite what can be done in pptWe have been using Studio for about 10 years, our courses are pretty linear, thoughts on Storyline advantages.
@Shawn: Dianne Elikins does a great job with her Uncovered booksAnd, I've uploaded 5 courses to our LMS at the sametime.
the presentation went quiet here in GA
Brent, with Storyline you have the ability to have complex branching and allow users to explore your content in various ways
My one warning on Triggers-‐ WATCH ORDER carefully... it matters.
@ David G -‐ Usually when you build a course compliant to those persons with disabilities your factoring quite a lot (motor abilities, hearing, visual etc.)@Brent -‐ What tom's showing right here is exactly why SToryline is different from PowerPoint based tools like StudioWill this presentation be saved so we can download it?
Hello, Am Muhammad, this seems interesting ... Enjoying the webminar :)
You are right about that David G, out of order triggers can be a tricky thing to figure out@Greg -‐ Yes the webinar is being recorded. We'll send you a link right after today's sessionGlad to hear you're enjoying this, Muhammadif I insert Java etc, will it work on a non-‐java supporting machine like a chromebook when published to html5
I'm just going to keep 'Pasting' this... This is being recorded so you can view it later...This is being recorded so you can view it later...
@ David,rI did not received the registration mail for the other learnings. I cannot be there tomorrow, will I get anyway a mail with the recorded webinar? Are there any other books you recommend?@DavidAnderson -‐ I would like to be included in the recorded session being sent to me via email as well. This is being recorded so you can view it later...
I won't be around tomorrow or Wednesday for the next 2 webinars, shall I register anyway to receive the recording afterwards?
What's the type of the final file? (.exe, SCORM... ?) Can I generate an iframe to put in my site, so can update many copies at the same time?MauroSCORM@Davidanderson, just trying to think of a realistic plan to convert. We have over 5000 slides currently in presenter.Mauro-‐ YES-‐ IFRAME can work
you can do TinCan, Scorm 1.2, Scorm 2004 and one other I can't remember@Justin are you thinking AICC?
@Garrett yes, JavaScript is supported in HTML5. Here's a good resource for what's supported http://www.articulate.com/support/storyline/comparing-‐storylines-‐flash-‐html5-‐and-‐articulate-‐mobile-‐player-‐outputyesBrent-‐ I did over 150 courses and 1000 screens inside of 3 monthsthanks!@Justin -‐ AICCand I thought that was it... but I confuse it with a audio formatahThanks Davidnever use AICCPROPS: Justin for awesome help in today's sessionwhat LMS is that for? Thanks @David Anderson
Learning Management Systems usually has more than just viewing websitesThis is being recorded so you can view it later...Does storyline still know and allow you to select built in states if the characters are edited for example cropped?Justin-‐ AICC is great for some things, actually. Better data than 1.2 and easier to update with frequency (best behind a firewall)Thank you, @Justin! This is one of our larger sessions!used for running classes, workshopts etcSome are SCORM
when identifying character is it per page or is the numbering sequence increasing by one each time through the entire presentation?and the publish works perfectotehrs not so you need a work around like the Iframecan SL 2 allow for saving to a single SWF file?David, I have also used some of Diane Elkins's E-‐Learning Uncovered books and I think she is an awesome author.can you do multiple triggers for the same object?Wanda-‐ when you select what you want a trigger on-‐ it puts a red halo box around it-‐ nice visual prompt as you do itEach character will be a different layer/item @Wandaok, thanksWhy you want to label everything
@Mircea -‐ Dianne does a really great job with her training and books.Michelle-‐ YES multiple triggers per object very common
Are we going to learn how to do that timeline thing that we saw earlier?@Melissa -‐ Which timeline?the timeline sliderMelissa is referring to that timeline with the satelites I think/me is very glad he had his coffee prior to today's session
Like the space one where he could move it back and forth -‐ yep -‐ that one was awesome! This is being recorded so you can view it later...
I don't think so but I'll check with Tom. If we don't, I can share some resources@Justin :)how can I see it?Thank youThanks so much! I would love some tips on how to build those. It's a great help
Will these project files that Tom is using be available at all to play around with also? One other trigger tip-‐ get it working once, paste/reuseIs there a way to have audio start for a layer? I created separate screens to get the audio / voice over aligned??
EXAMPLE: Timeline and sliders https://community.articulate.com/e-‐learning-‐examples/guru-‐honorable-‐mention-‐galactic-‐gamesneat trick@Cleon, yes there are triggers for audio for layersgreat tipneat!can you make a tab go to another page
Cleon-‐ you can put objects off screen (in the area left/right of slide) put on timeline and have audio start at timeline start of objectI also need spearae notes for each layer? is that possible?
when using these layers and click on the tabs... is there a way for the tab to be highlighted when on that tab and showing that layer?@ Leonora
Yes Scott H, you can trigger an audio file to start when a layer shows
Haha.you can pretty make any 'link' go anywhereCleon-‐ the objects can be on layerswhere do you build the tabs/layers
Thank you for showing how to do that. Appreciate you taking the time to show us noobs! You're a GENIUS, Tom!Does storyline build all the questions in the same screen or are there templates like there is in quizmaker for studio?question for Tom or David... how many different types of interactions do you recommend using in a single course?
I do have a question about the tabs interaction. I have built a course where the learner must visit objectives. But the states of buttons turn to "visited" sooner that I would like. Can that be changed?can you do a reverse trigger? like make normal to happy and when you click again it reverts to normal? How would you report information to LMSwhen doing interactions with audio on each layer, how do you get the seekbar to show for a layer? Thanks David G
Are there resources for adding this type of animation to non-‐Articulate image? For example a diagram of an electrical circuit, etc.can you cause objects to transition within a slide without making the whole slide transition?Kay-‐ Question types have templates, and you can have them inline on screen or in banks, pulled dynamically. Lots of options
If we missed any of this, is there a way to get it at a later time. Same if we miss a webinar we registered for. Can we somehow access a recording?Yes, This is being recorded so you can view it later. :)How can you view it later?I think they'll send out linksdoes each layer need to have it's own audioo track? Or, can the "main" audio track play through all of the layers?
Michelle-‐ you may need a variable "change to happy if mad/change to mad if happy"I missed some of the conversation on 508 and ADA compliance, could you please speak on accessibility in these interactions?@Petra, each layer as the gear icon, I believe you can tell the seekbar to show with a check box
Can you change the color of tab to make it stay another color to show it is finishedWhy is it that sometimes on a long storyview there is a gray arrow, but no trigger between slides/screen?Wow! This is awesome. I used to use Authorware and Flash 10 years ago. Haven't looked at this stuff since. So much easier.MAYBE JUST AN ADA/508 SESSION? Highly nuanced.
I love Articulate Storyline but would LOVE and GREATLY appreciate if it could be used from more than one computer... I have in one but cannot practice or work from any other computer. As with other programs, it could be set so that we can only activate one copy at the time...Thanks, David...this is super new
Jim I think the audio can play through all the layers. It does on my courseWhen is the Mac version coming? What about use with tablets...can you use the same interactions if people are swiping vs. clicking?
@Leonora you can do that but would have to have multiple triggersSylvia-‐ you can control it by turning off audio when layers display.
Are there only there only three interactions or can other interaction be added? This is being recorded, right? (Sorry-‐ couldn't resist)thanks Scott!HA!@Justin -‐ We know there are lots of Mac users out there. We're always watching that market.Pierre-‐ you can add more-‐ what you have in mind? What about tool tips and allt-‐text for screen readers etc.?
Thoughts on designing for HTML viewing only? We are looking to completely move away from Flash. looking to understand limitationsThanks Sylvia
Hi semi newbie here... I would love to know how to do the sliders.. is that something that will be covered in another session?I have 3 laptops on my desk @David... one is JUST for ArticulateReena-‐ Yes, and yes. Do-‐ableYes, This is being recorded so you can view it later. :)
If you want to do triggers with different photo characters to show different expression, do you choose a different photo or how to do this?Timeline and slidersrhttps://community.articulate.com/e-‐learning-‐examples/guru-‐honorable-‐mention-‐galactic-‐gamesAre you going to show how to create sliders?i am with Anna...can we cover sliders?thanks MelissaBrent-‐ biggest limitation is tablet limits on HTML5 memory. The solution? Use the app. Everything else is variable playback. How to use variables?Just wondering but I have seen matching or hotspots.
Jhulio -‐ according to the FAQs you can install on your home and work computer. CHeck out the link https://www.articulate.com/store/store-‐faq.phpMaybe a 1-‐hour webinar for accessibility?
Just out of curiosity, what are the limitations in the 30 day trial version?Mary I like that ideas on accessiblity@Mary that's a fantastic idea! #WritingDownI do believe @Mary has a great idea...Thanks David, looking to design without the app as well.
We have a lot of government contracts... always has to be accessiblePlease let us know if you have a webinar for accessibility!
REVERSE TRIGGER OR TOGGLE BUTTON: http://www.articulate.com/support/storyline-‐2/how-‐to-‐create-‐a-‐toggle-‐buttonVARIABLES: https://community.articulate.com/series/articulate-‐storyline-‐2/articles/adding-‐variables
Will this hotspot interaction work on a layer or only on the base slide@Patrice Will sure let you know!
Sylvia-‐ all layers act the same as base in terms of objects/interactionsi second Sylvi's questionDavid, they don't work with freeform quizzesThank you so much!! This was great! Are there any books that you can recommend?@David -‐ Thank you!Sylvia-‐ what doesnt' work with Freeform Quzzes?
Yes! Layers are different!!!! they don't have the same functionality as the base layer
it would be nice to know which base layer characteristics aren't available in layers@Sylvia -‐ What doesn't work with freeform quizzes? With quizzes a lot of the triggering won't work
I can't get correct and incorrect layers to show if I create a quiz on a layerhow do you disable the "Next" button?Diane-‐ SL 2 has a change state of... and you can pick "next"I wanted to use the base layer as an intro to the quiz and then start the quiz on a layer, but it doesn't work
Freeform quizzes will use layers for feedback and questions on base layer. BUT you can create custom quizzes to achieve almost any type of quiz you like.
Click on the little gear shift to change it from automatically advancing @Dianecoolio!Thanks, @Emily!
Chad -‐ I believe you can do everything except publish the final product.thanks @EmilyPROPS: @Emily Goldstein for helping out today
Yes, I found that works David, but the questions HAVE to be on the base layerCan we create scored tests and show the score at the end and give feedbacks to each question?:)Gotta run... can't wait to watch the recording... Yes, This is being recorded so you can view it later. :)Mauro-‐ yep-‐ you can
@Sylvia -‐ The better option would bet to SHOW LAYER WHEN TIMELINE STARTS to show yoru introduction. Then include HIDE LAYER to return to base layer quizHappy to put a demo together for you @SylviaI hadn't thought about the timeline. THANKSTHAT will do itThanks :)David/Sylvia-‐ "sometimes how we look at the problem is the problem". I get myself in knots like that all the time.
The timeline is still a mystery to me :), but I'm learning and lovin' SL2
@Mauro Yes! Here's how you add the results slides to track quizzes: https://community.articulate.com/series/getting-‐started-‐with-‐articulate-‐storyline-‐1/articles/create-‐a-‐result-‐slideStates -‐ le sigh -‐ I just built a course where I manually created "states" using triggers. SO MUCH WORK I could have avoidedcan you use format painter in states? Will this all be available later as a replay?Yeah, Jim I wasted time like that tooYes, This is being recorded so you can view it later. :)@ claire you can copy and paste your state and then edit it@Jim I just felt a disturbance in the force!Thank you, Justinthanks @emily
This software is new to me so thanks for providing the resource links, tips, etc.@Jim -‐ So glad to hear you now know how it worksLOL David
Is it possible to produce separate result slides for each module in the course?
Do you have a rule of thumb about when you should make changes in states vs. layers?
@Jeet Yes it sure is! Each results slide you create can track one or more quizzes@david -‐ millions of souls crying our in fear*outWondering the sae as JeetMillions of triggers cried out
Great question about states vs layers. That can get a bit confusing ;-‐)@Jeet You just need to insert multiple Results Slides after each module to track. Then you can aggregate all at the end.@ Melissa, there's really no wrong way...you just have to try it and see what you like better. And can we add condition of passing the course only if user has scored more than 80% in each module?
I tend to use both but didn't know if there was really a best practice. Thanks!why aren't you seeing normal when you first go into the slideHow do you force them to click on all of them?@Nick -‐ because he wants them hidden initiallynevermind! Read my mind. :-‐)
@Melissa did he have a trigger setting them to hidden@Nick -‐ he used statesCan global settings be applied to font type, size etc.Tom is showing how to turn off NEXT right nowhiok
@Michelle, you have to set "conditions"...I'll look for the article on the Heroes websiteSchweeet! When do you use layers as opposed to hiding something?
Pierre-‐ yes, at both a Player skin level and for slides/content (and you can have multiple masters-‐ learn this and you will be hyperproductive)Thanks, Emily!Michelle-‐ that is up to you. I have layers that show at the beginning to introduce, others than only show on demand.Great!@David Glow... any links for those global changes / masters?@Pierre: yes, you can set color and font themes: https://community.articulate.com/series/articulate-‐storyline-‐2/articles/working-‐with-‐theme-‐fonts-‐in-‐articulate-‐storyline-‐2read my mindLOL
Pierre-‐ can't recommend to folks more strongly about getting Master Slide concepts down (you can even have master interactions)ok ok... now I really need to gountil tomorrow...THANKS @Justin!@David: nd can we add condition of passing the course only if user has scored more than 80% in each module?Justin-‐ it's OK-‐ you can watch a recording later ;)Appreciate all your help todayThank's DAVID'sciaoJeet-‐ yes, you canwoow, I like this !Wow!!That's amazing! And we don't even need to use variables! Great!Love the next button trick!Certainly agree with you David it can make life so much easier.Nice. Like it.
So Tom just built "next is off until you click thru content" -‐ very quick@Tom is now my Articulate God...
@David: Can i read about setting conditions for quiz slides somewhere you ca direct to?David Anderson, thank you for all the help! That is awesome! The next button has been an issue for me.ove how easy Tom makes things look@ Eric -‐ See!That trick is super helpful! I've used a variation of it before.
Thanks.. great information... looking forward to watching again and playing with it.Tom makes this look so easy...Wow! That's a great tip! Next Button can be disable@Sylvia It's my pleasure! let me know if you need help with the quiz/introduction timeline issue@Chad, practice, practice, practice! :)where did he get those images from? the different scenes?
Jeet -‐ you can set 80% as passing score -‐ it is part of the publication settings
Radhika-‐ very helpful too if there is video/audio that should be reviewed in it's entirety
Not sure if this has been mentioned, especially for newer people. Hover states will not work if you are developing for an iPad/iOS device.@Vanessa: Tom gets most of his graphics from Dollar Photo ClubLove the click to zoom in!ok thx^ graphic designer?
What is you have audio narration for each slide. looks like this will limit what you can do.That looks like a clock above his head!?Thanks a lot David and Terri@Mel-‐ same click to zoom is awesomeDollar Photo Club isn't accepting new members :(Are markers accessible ?@David -‐ What do you mean? Why can't you use the "zoom feature" on the layersHopefully he goes over click to zoom!i was sent a storyline file with the zoom and unzoom feature with a glitch do you have a resource to ehlp me fix the glitch?Another great tip!
@Sebastien: yes, Markers are supported in HTML5 http://www.articulate.com/support/storyline/comparing-‐storylines-‐flash-‐html5-‐and-‐articulate-‐mobile-‐player-‐outputhow did you convert to B/w?@Steven: Can you post the file and /or issue in our forums? We'll be happy to take a look at it!
B/W is the display of the layers below the layer you are currently working on.Lost audio and movement on screenDavid-‐ Adobe Stock took over Dollar Photo Club
Can I integrate Storyline slides into an Articulate Presenter project?I lost audioCan you show the zoom one please?
the file is huge -‐ I'll try to save a portion as a separate file and then post it.When you create a hover hotspot. When you move off the hover does the layer automatically disappear?I'd like to see the zoom as well
Markers are seriously underused and such a great option in so many cases.@David True that.@David -‐ I agree about Markers. They are awesome!Too often, markers are just overlooked.
ZOOM IMAGE: Here's Tom's recent tutorial on zoom http://blogs.articulate.com/rapid-‐elearning/how-‐to-‐create-‐an-‐interactive-‐image-‐template/
Jeet -‐ there is a great storyline exmaple template with every type of quiz question and how to score... https://community.articulate.com/discussions/articulate-‐storyline/storyline-‐quiz-‐template#Please show Zoom -‐ pretty please....Still would like to know about the arrows.Markers look very neat and should be used more oftenthank you!!Can you change the colors of the markers?Thank youPlease show us the Zoom interactionSylvia, there is a tickbox to set it to yes or noThanks!Thank youThis was great! Great job!!!Great session. Thank you.
Thanks from Sydney :-‐)@Jonathon -‐ Built in markers can't be resized. You could create a custom marker using shapes to make it any sizeIs this being recorded? :) Gotta bounce folks.Thank you. This was so informative. Thanks very much looking forward to tomorrows webinar.LOL yes, DavidThank you very much, Tom! Fantastic job!
If you don't have a dedicated server, is there a way to share an html link to a course? We are using Articulate Online presently, but I wanted to know if there's another option for future courses?
Can the time of when a state changes be regulated on the timeline? For instance, I have a tab changing to visited state to soonwill the link to the seminar just be audio or will it also be video?I learned a lot. Thanks!
If I want a button toad points or information to the LS, how would I do tha? Thanks a ton
When you use the hover hotspot does the layer automatically disappear when you move off of the hover or do you have to create a second trigger@Judith here's some info for sharing published content http://www.articulate.com/support/storyline-‐2/publishing-‐and-‐sharing-‐articulate-‐storyline-‐content-‐sl2Thanks so much. I learned how much I do not know about creating an interactive slide. Great session.
How do we access more advanced trainings? (I think I heard Tom mention something about this earlier.) Are there webinars or does Articulate have courses we could take? Will the chat be included with the recording?Thank You
The webinar has been extremely useful and informative. Thanks a lot!
will there be a recording of this for future reference? Great session.@Marilyn We
If I create software training (Windows 10), should I use video for demo or screen record (step by step) method. which method is better. Thanks a lot.Can we save the chat?
is it possible to put a cross on corner in zoom region in order to show off zoom effect when clicking?YES! Session is recorded.
@Marilyn -‐ we'll be hosting more advanced webinars later in the year. Right now we're focusing on helping new users get up and running. But we have a more planned! Can we also get a transcript of this chat? Thanks , Tom, for your time and expertise! Why not do it in a layer?can you change the shape of a ZOOM -‐-‐ when i've used it, it sized proportionately, not height and width of what i wantcan you pan as well?
@Thuy -‐ That's a great question. You could use the demo video so learners can VIEW and then create practice opportunities for learners to TRY
Sylvia, you can adjust the hover to do what you would like. I create a hotspot to view a layer and then have it hide the layer when I move away from the item@Jennifer -‐ No pan feature built inIt is usually set up like that initially
@Ann -‐ you can't change the shape-‐-‐it retains the proportions. You could fake it by creating your own custom zoom using images and entrance animationsHi @Monica! nice to see you hereHi David! :)Great session! Thank you!thank you Tom!
How does audio work? Is it just an item on the timeline? And you trigger it?@Kim -‐ yes audio is just an item on the timeline -‐ either recorded in storyline or importedThanks, @Terri!LOVE IT! Thanks!David, you are the man.Monica did you have to create two triggers?great trickthanks!Thank you!
Thanks for this session-‐-‐took me from what I knew to what I didn't know-‐-‐really shortened the learning curve, particularly on the zoom effectAmazing!

what if you have people accessing on both computer and tablet where you swipe? Thanks so much Tom and David! Have a fantastic day. Thanks!panning ... yes!why wouldn't you do the zoom in a layer?
I too would be interested in a transcript of the chat, if it's available.Great session, thank you! Thanks so much!
But you can only do the zoom region on the base layer, correct?????will chat be with the recordingIf I design a cstom creen -‐ how would I repor information to LMS?
If you right click over chat and choose Select All, Copy it (Control C) and then you can paste it into Word using Paste Special: Keep text only.
Muchas gracias-‐ thank you so much Tom, short and sweet explanations and examples
Does interactivity change when its a click and read requirement with no audio?
When I have a long Storyview, once in a while a gray arrow will show from one slide on a scene to another slide in another scene, but no triggers are attached. Why is that?@Emily that's correct! Zoom is only available on Base Layer
@Sylvia -‐ not on the same slide. Create a trigger on main layer and it has a click box that says to restore on mouse leavethanks soooo much Tom and allKeep in mind that Flash isn't working on all browsersworking in all browsresSylvia -‐ That is all you will need to doI love this feature, but wish I could do it on a layerWill you be covering sliding on a timeline?oh ok . Thanks so much Monicalove the zoomGot itthanks so much, great session!nice-‐-‐v clear once I've seen itwonderful! ThxYou can change the pan speed too -‐ can't you?
