Celebrating our Grads! It is that time of year again when
we celebrate the Highlands grads
in our midst! Some of you (or your
children or grandchildren) are
graduating/have graduated from
Grade 12 or a post secondary
program this Spring, and we would
like to acknowledge these people
on Sunday, June 23. We will include a little write-up on each grad in
Highlights, and for those who can be present that morning, we will
invite them to come up front as we read something about each
person. So, if there is a grad in your family, could you please send a
little write up no later than Wednesday, June 19 that includes:
Name and connection to Highlands (eg. did they sing in G2;
on summer staff, Sunday School teacher, musician, attended
worship, volunteered in the Flea Market, participate in Summer
programs….) Also are you writing this on behalf of your child/
grandchild (we like to know who is related to whom!) 4–5
sentences.
What program are they graduating from
What are their future plans?
A picture would be wonderful too!
Could you also please indicate if the graduate will be present in
church on Sunday June 23rd?
Send your write up to Allie Keir ([email protected]) by
email (with photo attached to the email) or drop off a copy at the
Church Office marked ‘grad write up’.

Hospitality Ministry
The Sunday morning worship
experience starts when people
come through the doors and are
warmly welcomed by
greeters! Greeters help facilitate worship and are essential in creating
the sense of home and belonging for newcomers and long time
members alike. If you enjoy meeting people and would like to
participate in this ministry, please sign up to greet for a month, on the
sign up sheet on the action table, or call or email Colleen Blair.
Greeters work in teams and duties are well laid out and easy to follow,
so if you’re new to this, there’s lots of friendly support!
If you have questions, please contact Colleen Blair at
A message from our Shelter to Home team: Shelter to Home needs a single bed for a man moving into a
10X10foot “pod” on May 31st. If you can help please call
778-331-8465, the Shelter to Home donor line. Thank you.
Vivaldi Chamber Choir brings you a concert for lovers of both jazz
and choral music. You will be treated to “A Little Jazz Mass”, one if
Bob Chilcott’s most celebrated and popular choral works reflecting his
deep love of jazz music; Will Todd’s imaginative and electrifying
“Mass in Blue” - accompanied by piano, bass, drum kit and saxophone;
and for comparison, a more traditional setting of the mass text - the
“Sparrow Mass” by W.A. Mozart.
