ROSARIES THIS WEEK: Tuesday 19 th July, in the home of Bernadette & Laurie Robinson, 58 Marsh St at 4pm. All welcome. Thank you to St Albert’s College: A big thank you to the students from St Albert’s College who devoted a day of their Community Service week to cleaning the Cathedral “in hard to get places”, and tightening up the kneelers at the pews. A very generous contribution to the Cathedral parish…and we are grateful. So a big THANK YOU, St Albert’s. FIRST HOLY COMMUNION Parent night for all parents of children preparing for the Sacrament of First Holy Communion will be held IN THE CATHEDRAL, THIS WEDNESDAY 20TH JULY AT 6PM. It is essential that parents attend this meeting to ENROL their son/daughter for this Sacrament. If we do not have record of your child’s Baptism either at the Parish Office or at St Mary’s Primary School, you will need to supply one prior to or at the Parent night. All enquiries to the Parish Office 6772 2218. Sunday 24th July Fr Gleeson will speak to the parish on the new Stewardship Program. For some time now the Parish Finance Committee has been about reworking the former Planned Giving Program into a more contemporary - best practice - model of Stewardship of & Caring for our Cathedral Parish here in Armidale…the new program doesn’t only focus on the financial needs of our parish, but also on the Time and Talent in the parish which the Lord has given us for the building up of “Church” in our place. Sunday 31st July - Marriage & Family Sunday - some members of the parish will speak to us about the new program from their point of view…and invite all of us to consider SIGNING UP on Sunday 7th August to offer some of our Time, Talent, and Treasure to service our parish over the next three years or so…please pray for the success of our new program…… Across the Generations……. Farewell & Thank You…This week we farewell loyal & faithful members of our Parish for more than 45 yearsBishop Michael Kennedy awarded Irene & Bernard Swan the Bishops medal for commitment and fidelity to our Church in our place. (The Explore Program was pioneered in the UK Catholic Church). From the ORDO (P.84) … *The PRIEST is the only Minister of the Eucharist. Lay people who assist with the distribution of holy communion are therefore always called MINISTERS OF COMMUNION (never Eucharistic Ministers).
