tradition of Homecoming alive

Mission StatementThe Mizzou Homecoming celebration actively seeks to engage and unify

the Mizzou family by serving the community, cultivating spirit and

preserving the traditions of our alma mater.

BLOOD First Blood Liaison meeting is September 13th

We will be having an additional blood liaison meeting on September 20th

“Attempted donations” – we are still working with the American Red Cross on figuring out what they consider an attempted donation. We’ll let you know more specifics at one of the Blood Liaison meetings. If you know you cannot donate, find someone to donate in your

place! It can be a friend, family member, or a stranger off the street Questions or concerns?

CAMPUS DECORATIONS A max of two freestanding objects are

allowed Objects extending off the boards may not

exceed 2 feet The freestanding objects may NOT be

traditionally pomped One freestanding object must be reused

in either Parade, Talent, or Campus Decs Talent dimensions: 4’x8’x10’

Greek Chapters: Order forms are due September 13, and pick-up is September 30.

Residence Halls: Order forms are due September 20, and pick-up is October 1.

Campus Organizations: Order forms are due September 27, and pick-up is September 30.

Example Sketch

Oct. 3, 7-8 p.m., :123 Reynolds Alumni Center: Open office hours to discuss float designs and material lists with Parade committee if interested. E-mail [email protected] for additional appointment times.

Include as many details as possible on your sketch

If changes are made, contact the Parade committee.

Entries will be capped at 110 First come, first serve

There will NO be spirit points awarded for participation in the parade this year.

We STRONGLY encourage your members to be spirited throughout the entirety of the parade.

PARADE No outside help allowed Prefabricated materials

The same prefabricated materials from Campus Decorations apply to Parade floats.

Any questions about prefabricated materials can be directed to the Parade Committee.

Float dimensions: 11” feet high (from the bed of the trailer to the top of

the float) 12” feet wide Trailer must not exceed a length of 24 feet

SERVICE Tigers Taming Hunger:

October 11-12, 14, 18-19, 21 Once all of our grocery stores are solidified for TTH, we

will start signing members of for shifts. Some of our stores have agreed to just have barrels in

front, so promote to your group! Volunteers

Each Greek grouping will be asked to provide 4 volunteers for 4 two-hour shifts.

Each Residence hall and Organization will be asked to provide 4 volunteers for 2 two-hour shifts

SERVICE Tiger Food Fight:

Friday, October 12, 2012 -Greek groupings, campus organizations, residence halls, and all other Tigers will

donate canned food to the “Tiger Food Fight” drive. -Orgs: If requested, an Org can have a bin placed at the Student Center or another

location- just email us! -Residence Halls: we are in communication with Hall Coordinators about bin

placements in halls Day of Service

Reminder - It is a community based day Registration process and date will be announced in September. Volunteers

SPECIAL EVENTS Banner

The Banners should be the size of a queen sheet. Your 3D objects may not exceed these dimensions.

Greek grouping will hang their banner on October 21st by 3pm

Residence Halls will hang their banner on October 18th

You may construct an optional banner to hang outside Faurot Field, but this will not count for points.

SPECIAL EVENTS Decorate the District

You will select your business for Decorate the District on October 4th.

Proof on Contact must include an attached design for owner/manager.

This is due at the liaison meeting on October 11th If you are in a Greek grouping a member from

each chapter must be present while decorating, but it is not required to use all of the allotted time. Decorating will take place from 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

SPECIAL EVENTS MIZ-BBQ

Residence Halls: Your competition banner will be hung the same day as the

MIZ-BBQ This is to be hung outside your residence hall

BBQ takes place on Thursday, Oct 18 this year You can set up for BBQ area form 11:30am-4pm. Judging will begin at 4:30pm

TALENT FIRST DIRECTORS MEETING NEXT WEEK!

Wednesday September 12th in room S204 Memorial Union at 8:30 PM

IBA forms are due by the 27th! Each IBA form is $20 per performing group Payment is turned in with form! IBA auditions begin the 30th!

REMEMBER: Performers can chose to perform in Jesse Hall, at the Shack, or either!

TRADITIONS Royalty Applications are due September

14 by 5:00 pm in 123 Reynolds Alumni Center. Residence Halls and Campus Organizations-

may enter a maximum THREE candidates. Individual Chapters- may enter a maximum of

THREE candidates. Paired Organizations or Triads- may

collectively enter maximum of SIX candidates. (i.e. Triad nominations can either be split 2-2-2 or 3-2-1).

TRADITIONS Entry Fee- Each organization will

receive one, free application. Additional applications cost $25.00, which is due along with the application.

TRADITIONS Remind chapter members, if they were not

nominated through their Greek chapters, they still have the opportunity to be nominated through other student organizations he or she is involved in.

Platform: This is just a way for judges to get to know what the candidates are passionate about and help applicants to stand out.
