3:00–6:00 p.m. Golf Cart Tours of Campus Enjoy an express, student-guided tour of our beautiful campus. Tours depart every 30 minutes at the top and half of the hour. 4:00–5:00 p.m. Michael Lestz ’68, P’13, ’19 Presents “The Rival of China’s Silk Road” Last summer, Trinity students took part in a field investigation of the Silk Road that took them from Xian to Yining and Kashgar in Chinese Turkestan (Xinjiang). This talk will draw on this experience and examine steps already initiated to revolutionize the pattern of China’s land trade. One of the signature projects of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s government is a rail and truck route that will roughly follow the track of the ancient Silk Road, from Xian to London. From the Han dynasty (206 to 220 BCE) and the Ming era (1368 to 1644), the Silk Road was the major land trade conduit connecting China to Central Asia and the West. Seabury Hall, N217
