Students take Individual college courses to earn college credit.
Students enroll in courses typically taken in their first and second year of college. General Education Requirements Foundation/Distribution Courses
Students enroll in one 3-credit course up through a 30+ credit pathway towards college completion.

• College credits earned may be used towards an associate’s degree or certificate at MC.
• College credits may also transfer to four-year colleges and universities. (“Google” ARTSYS Maryland).
• Students may apply college credits to both high school diploma requirements and college graduation requisites with prior permission from the student’s high school.

What Are The Requirements To Participate?
Students must submit a College admissions application and be fully admitted to Montgomery College.
Students must meet the College’s Dual Enrollment requirementsmust have a high school grade point average (GPA) of 2.50
(seniors) or 2.75 (juniors or below).must complete all enrollment steps, to include appropriate
school and parent approvals.
Students must have the required prerequisites and assessment levels for each class, including AP scores for appropriate courses.

How Do I get Enrolled?
The entire student enrollment process is managed by the Dual Enrollment office through a “one stop shop" model, providing dedicated service and support to students and ensuring that college procedures and state laws are met.
A Dual Enrollment Academic Coordinator is assigned to each of the three campuses. You may choose whichever campus is most convenient for you.

Home School Student Verification
Montgomery College requires that any home schooled high school student provide verification from their local school system that they are receiving home school instruction. Verification must come directly from the student’s public school
system in the county in which they reside. The student and/or parent must contact the local school system
and request that the information be sent to the Dual Enrollment office at MC. Written verification must be requested prior to your appointment with
an MC Academic Coordinator.

What Are My Course Options?Students may enroll in any college credit course
provided they meet the appropriate course prerequisites and assessment levels.
Students can take college classes at any MC campus. (Germantown, Rockville or Takoma Park/Silver Spring)
Students can also enroll in online/distance learning classes.

Students are individually responsible for all Montgomery College tuition and fees, as well as textbook expenses associated with their registered course(s).
