Fourth Sunday of Lent Page Three

Archdiocesan Capital Campaign - “On the Way - ¡Ándale!” - continues. Thanks again to our hard-working committees of St. James, Sacred Heart and St. Patrick, and to all of you who have already responded to the Campaign. Committee members report that they have had some difficulty in contacting some of you, due to phone numbers no longer in service. If you have not yet been contacted, we ask the favor of your calling our office 672-2945, so that we can update your contact information. Many thanks! In case you haven’t done so yet, please review the 10 minute video about the Cam-paign, using the easy link on our website, CCGAW.ORG. The video includes a number of priests you may well recog-nize; how many can you name? Stewardship Message: Christian stewardship takes a positive view on money. It sees money not only as a medium of ex-change but also as a symbol of the person who has it. The way we acquire it, use it, and share it, we are revealed in those ac-tions. Gonzales Catholic Cemetery Cleanup: Saturday, March 17, beginning at 9 am. Anyone who has a loved one buried in our cemetery, is invited to come and help! Please bring gar-den tools, gloves, closed toe shoes, etc. Water will be pro-vided. Parishioners who have placed items that are not allowed under cemetery rules and regulations, please re-move! Our Cemetery will be mowed during Holy Week. Lenten Ecumenical Gatherings: This Wednesday, our Gon-zales Ministerial Alliance will begin a series of Lenten reflec-tions, to take place at First Baptist Church at 12 noon; fol-lowed by a light meal at 12:30. This Wednesday’s gathering will be hosted by our Catholic Community. A special thanks to our St. James Organ Choir, Knights, Altar Society and Catholic Daughters for providing our worship and meal to follow. Sacred Heart Spring Festival 2018 - today (Sunday), 3-10 pm at Sacred Heart. This family-oriented gathering is for all. No gate fees, live bands or alcohol, in keeping with the spirit of this Lenten season. Many activities for kids. Just come and join your parish family for an evening of fun! Mass of Anointing of the Sick: This special mass, held each year in Lent and Advent, is for all who wish to receive the healing sacrament - Next Sunday, March 18, 2 pm, St. James. Parish Penance Service: Thursday, March 22, 6:30 pm at St. James. All sinners welcome! Knights’ Fish Fry: Friday, March 23, St. James Hall. Please contact any Knight for tickets or more information. Congratulations and blessings to Jeremy Pena and Beatrice Castillo, who celebrate the Sacrament of Matrimony this com-ing Saturday at St. James. Jeremy and Beatrice, receive our community’s blessing as The Altar Society invites you to honor the memory of a loved one as well as helping beautify St. James Church for the Easter season. Donations will be accepted before and after mass on March 17/18 or by calling Betty Neubauer at 830-437-5288.
