We are getting geared up for Teacher Appreciation Week and we need lots of volunteers to make the week extra special for our teachers. Email [email protected]if you would like to help out. (___________) Treasurer's Report The PTA has collected $1,388 in funds from the Dragonfly Dash! Proceeds support the 2019 Field Day, DDES PTA, and the American Heart Association! We also continue to administer funds for teacher grants and classroom gifts. Finally, we are proud to sponsor our Teacher of the year Nominee, Sarah Hitch, along with Dr. Douglas and distinguished guests to the Teacher of the Year Banquet on May 9. —Lisa Padgett, PTA Treasurer Come support DDES at McTeacher’s Night. Book Fair March 4-8 Sign up to volunteer at tinyurl.com/ DDESBookFair Special Parent Hours: 8:00-9:00 AM Thursday, March 7th DDES PTA FAMILY FUN MOVIE NIGHT S I N G - A L O N G March 19 — 6 PM Multipurpose Room — Free Admission 2019-2020 PTA BOARD NOMINATIONS & ELECTIONS The DDES PTA Annual Board Election will be held on May 2nd at 6:00 PM in the Multipurpose Room. The PTA Board is the managing team of parent volunteers that leads the yearly activities and direction of the DDES PTA. Board members meet once a month for about 30 minutes each meeting and will work with Dr. Douglas, teachers, and parent volunteers throughout the year on various projects and initiatives. The Board positions are President, Treasurer, and Secretary. Prior to the elections, the PTA must establish a Nominating Committee to consider all eligible Board candidates for the 2019-2020 term. If you would like to serve on the Nominating Committee or run for the Board, please email [email protected].

2019-2020 pta Junta nominaciones y eleccionesLa Elección Anual de la Junta de DDES PTA se llevará a cabo el 2 de mayo a las 6:00 PM en el Salón de Usos
Múltiples. La Junta de la PTA es el equipo administrativo de padres voluntarios que dirige las actividades anuales
y la dirección de la PTA de DDES. Los miembros de la junta se reúnen una vez al mes durante aproximadamente
30 minutos cada reunión y trabajarán con el Dr. Douglas, los maestros y los padres voluntarios durante todo el
año en diversos proyectos e iniciativas. Los cargos de la Junta son Presidente, Tesorero y Secretario.
Antes de las elecciones, el PTA debe establecer un Comité de Nominaciones para considerar a todos los
candidatos elegibles de la Junta para el período 2019-2020. Si desea participar en el Comité de Nominaciones o
postularse para la Junta, envíe un correo electrónico a [email protected].
Celebración de Primavera
Desde diciembre, el Comité de Hospitalidad ha estado ocupado celebrando a nuestros consejeros durante la Semana Nacional de Asesoramiento Escolar, a nuestros conductores de autobuses durante la Semana de Reconocimiento al Conductor de Autobuses Escolares de Carolina del Norte, ya todos nuestros profesores y personal para el Día de San Valentín.
Nos estamos preparando para la Semana de Reconocimiento a los Maestros y necesitamos muchos voluntarios para que la semana sea muy especial para nuestros maestros. Envíe un correo electrónico a [email protected] si desea ayudar.
