What are Housing Associations?
Housing Associations provide affordable housing in many areas of Bassetlaw. They build new homes and improve existing properties, mainly for rent.
They normally allocate their properties on assured shorthold tenancies.
What kinds of property are available?
An up-to-date list of Housing Association properties in Bassetlaw, including information about the sizes, types and contact details are summarised on page 4.
How to apply
Housing Associations advertise at least 50% of their available stock in the Bassetlaw area through A1 Housing’s HomeFinder Lettings Scheme.
Longhurst & Havelock Homes together with Nottingham Community Housing Association (NCHA) advertise ALL their properties through this scheme. This means that if you have registered with A1 Housing you can now place a bid on both A1 Housing properties as well as those owned and managed by Housing Associations in one simple way.
You can register with A1 Housing by calling 0800 590 542 and requesting an application form, downloading a form from www.a1homefinder.org.uk or by calling into one of our Property Shops.
You can apply for accommodation directly with the relevant Housing Association, (except Longhurst & Havelock Homes and NCHA) as they may have their own waiting lists.Every Housing Association has its own “Lettings Policy”.
How will I be made an offer?
The Housing Association will contact you directly if they are able to offer you a property. You will be able to look at the property before making a final decision.
