How did you use media technologies in the

construction and research, planning and evaluation

stages?

Blogger• The website Blogger was an essential part of the construction of my trailer, it

helped me compile enough research and planning to make a successful trailer. it was creative process produced over a period of time divided into 4 essential categories; Audience Research, Product Research, Planning and Evaluation. Combine these 4 categories and you have a steady process that makes sure you have enough information, this includes research on other social realism films and seeing the codes and conventions of this type of genre, there is also the audience you are trying to reach and your independent opinions on what you want your film to be. In evaluating my trailer blogger helped me to asses my trailer before and after audience feedback, it shows the changes I have made to improve my film. The length of time that I have had blogger helped me to realise the progression I have made with my film especially when comparing storyboards, mind maps, etc.

YouTube • YouTube was key to the research part

of my trailer, it helped me analyse different social realism films, trailers and certain distribution methods. I took elements of other social realism films and contributed them to mine but put a different twist on it so it had my own personal touch. My soundtrack was also took from a social realism trailer (Bullet Boy),also the help of YouTube converter helped to edit audio into my film.

Power Director • This software helped me when I

was editing my trailer; I adjusted sound, brightness and juxtaposed clips so they create meaning. It also helped join the soundtrack with the clips, with the soundtrack I sped it up to match the scenes that were fast tempo, I was trying to create an atmosphere and certain tension for the audience. Using this software I managed to have many drafts of my film and keep improving my trailer over time, added certain clips that change the dynamic and feel to the trailer

Video Camera • The video camera gave me the

luxury to go across many different locations across the city, sticking with the same camera also gave me the chance to r3ecord hours of footage and take the best clips I could find to achieve the maximum quality and entertainment. The commentary that I recorded was also done with the camera.

• My poster and magazine cover image was took with a HD camera that I hope would give the professional look to them.

Photoshop• This was a key element in making

my magazine cover and poster. This software could help me in added reviews, plugs and emblems from other posters.

• Before this course I was unaware on how to use this software but over a period of time I come accustomed on how to create magazine covers and posters.
