How effective is the combination of your main
product and ancillary tasks?
I feel my product and ancillary tasks make a good combination as they both provide links to each other, enabling the audience to see the link and know that this is the digipak for this video. I used the idea of bright colours in all three of my media products, and this was noticed in my feedback as ‘The magazine advert corresponds fantastically with the the CD cover design and promotes it well’ I used a running theme throughout my ancillary tasks showing various images of Ella in different colours, this created a upbeat quirky feel, and made the audience know that this was the CD that the magazine was advertising.

STILLS FROM VIDEO
Colourful images of Ella, similar colours to that used in ancillary tasks.
Similar hairstyle to ancillary images, shows connection between three
I the idea of coloured images from inspiration I had gather from my own music video, where there are scenes of Ella singing and the music changing quickly to the beat of the song. This made the video more interesting and made the long shot of Ella singing seem quicker and fun.
I used images of Ella as main focal points in all of my products, to represent that this was her song, CD and advert, from looking at existing CD covers I noticed that the main singer was always the focal point, and the CD cover itself was usually a big picture of her face, I wanted to incorporate this into my own CD cover and made sure that Ella’s face was heavily represented throughout thus emphasising the importance she had on the songs and showing the audience that this was her own CD. I kept the font and logo I used in both the CD and magazine advert continuous, this showed continuity within my work and again allowed the customer to make the connection between CD and magazine.
