How many of us think we know what is good and what is bad for

us? How much do we really know?

Coffee can make us feel anxious and keep us awake at night but is it bad

for us? Experts say that coffee isn’t bad for us and that a little coffee is

actually good for us. One or two cups of coffee a day can help to protect us

against some deseases. But coffee with a lot of cream and three spoonfuls of

sugar is not a good idea! Chocolate has a lot of sugar and fat in it but is it

always unhealthy? No some chocolate can be healthy. Dark chocolate

contains vitamins that are good for our health and can help us feel good.

Experts say that one or two squares from a bar of dark chocolate a day is

OK. Remember, not all chocolate is the same, white and milk chocolate are

not healthy choices.

Fat is always bad for us. Wrong! We need animal and vegetable fats. They

give us energy and help our bodies to absorb vitamins A, D, E and K. A

healty person gets about 30 per cent of their calories from fat,, but our

bodies can store fat so don’t eat a lot. Don’t put a bottle of salad dressing

on your lettuce or half a tub of margarine on your bread!

In conclusion then, is there any food that is really

unhealthy? Experts say that all food has some

nutritional value, we just need to regulate the

quantities that we eat – a little bad food, can

actually do us good!
