How to make the world a better place?

•While headlines often focus on what's wrong, in many ways the world is getting better. Health is improving. Poverty is shrinking. Knowledge is growing. People are connecting. Technological progress in every field means your life should be dramatically better than ours today.•We will do our part to make this happen, not only because

we love you, but also because we have a moral responsibility to all children in the next generation.•We will give 99% of our Facebook shares -- currently about

$45 billion -- during our lives to advance this mission. We know this is a small contribution compared to all the resources and talents of those already working on these issues. But we want to do what we can, working alongside many others.

God’s solution: “The Word was made flesh and dwelt among us”

1. TO SHOW US HIS UNCONDITIONAL LOVE:The Word became flesh so that thus we might know God's love. (Catechism 458)

2) TO TEACH US BY HIS EXAMPLEGod became man so man could become like God. Jesus reveals the human face of God and the divine face of man.

3. TO DWELL IN US: The Word became flesh to make us "partakers of the divine nature" (CCC 460)

‘Today, the Son of God is born, and everything changes. The Savior of the world comes to partake of our human nature; no longer are we alone and forsaken. The Virgin offers us her Son as the beginning of a new life. The true light has come to illumine our lives so often beset by the darkness of sin. Today we once more discover who we are! (…) We must set out to see our Savior lying in a manger. (…) So when we hear tell of the birth of Christ, let us be silent and let the Child speak. Let us take his words to heart in rapt contemplation of his face. If we take him in our arms and let ourselves be embraced by him, he will bring us unending peace of heart.’
