Rental Property Insurance Requirements Homeowners and rental property insurance are similar but they have important differences. A rental property policyiswrittenspecificallyforatenant-occupied(vs.owner-occupied)unit.Soyou’llneedtoswitchtothecorrecttype of policy to cover possible property damage from renters.
