The trick is to mix and match and not make the mid-section look bulky. These powerful-yet- restrained checks are mak- ing a comeback in a modern way. Boho chic has always been the core of her aesthetic and this time she presented it with the on- trend off-shoulder detailing. For Indian wear, I remem- ber styling models with chiffon saris, pairing the look with mang tika, gold chandelier earrings and haath phool. If you’re taking the western route, balance out the chunky, dangly earrings with a slender tube top, jacket and a pair of denims. Match the hint of metal you are wearing to your shoes, and you’ll have a classic look on hand. I believe this gives an aesthetic appeal to the outfit, creating an elegant look.” Go For Solid Colours Designer Aniket Satam says, “Our eyes perceive looks from top to bottom. Bringing defini- tion to your face will make state- ment earrings stand-out even more. The best way would be styl- ing it with an off-shoulder top. There are myths that you can’t wear long shoulder-dusters with a round/high/ribbed neckline. I would, however, not suggest styl- ing detailed earrings with prints and themed chokers. Basic, solid colours provide a good base for your jewellery to be the centre of attention.” Bold And Bright In 2016, there are no rules to fash- ion and styling. Designer Nitya Arora of Valliyan has a similar outlook, she adds “I believe there are no boundaries when wanting to style bold jewellery. Mixing colours and prints with chunky earrings shouldn’t be considered a fashion faux-pas. It depends on what prints you choose to wear and how bright the colours are.” Deepika Padukone Miss Padukone rocks these fringe earrings which bring the attention to her enviable collar bone. Nude make-up add to the great finish. Shraddha Kapoor Shraddha Kapoor rocks her gold edgy earrings with a black furry fringe jacket. The red lips and windblown hair add to the drama and sheen. Comprised of 29 separate piec- es, Grindr’s debut fashion collec- tion is titled “The Varsity Collec- tion.” This locker-room-like influence is clearly felt across the array of tight-fitting sportswear, wrought in flashy shades of pri- mary colors. The line is grounded by high-cut shorts, tank-tops, T- shirts and swimming trunks, with the intricate print created in collaboration with design studio Print All Over Me. All sales of the clothing will go towards Athlete Ally, a charity benefitting LGBTQ athletes. As cheeky the fashion line is, this should not come as an im- mense surprise, as the app has spent the past year moving closer and closer towards the world of fashion. Earlier this year, fashion maverick JW Anderson chose to stream his personal label’s FW16 runway show exclusively on the app before releasing it to the rest of the world, which must have made a nice surprise for the men online trying to get laid. The col- lection goes on sale this week on the app’s online store.
