HOW TO USE GMAIL
LIKE A PRO
GENERAL SETUP
● Install and use Chrome as your default browser
● Install the following chrome extensions (menu -> tools -> extensions)
● Rapportive – helps you organize your social engagement
● Boomerang – make emails that arrive to early “boomerang” in a couple of days, weeks or
months. You can also schedule emails to be sent at another time.
● Google Mail Checker – Displays the number of unread messages in your inbox in Chrome
● Sending using Gmail - Makes Gmail your default email application
● Use Google contacts
● Use Google calendar
● Learn that labels equals folders and that folders equals labels
GMAIL SETUP
In your gmail settings, enable the following:
● Always use https
● Enable advanced stars and start by choose three ones you like (one for reply, one
for action and one for info/read) my stars looks like this:
● Set keyboard shortcuts to: on
● In labs activate: Inserting images, Undo Send, Background Send, Message Sneak

USE RAPPORTIVE
● Shows you the senders job, company and LinkedIn profile
● Shows you the senders social media activity
● Expand your network: Follow the sender on LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook etc.
● Add personal notes to on each contact for heads up

● Send an email later
● Follow up emails later
● Remind you if you don't hear back
● Schedule birthday/holiday notes when you have time to write them
● Clear out travel confirmation emails, returning them on the day of your trip

● x = mark a conversation
● s = star a conversation (tap several times for advanced stars)
