HS Announcements: Monday, Dec. 17 th High School 1. ALL STUDENTS WANTING TO ATTEND THE TALENT SHOW ON FRIDAY – Pre-Sale Talent Show tickets will go on sale on Monday, December 17th and can be purchased through Friday, December 21st during lunch. Ticket prices are $2. Canned Food items will not be accepted for the talent show this year. Tickets can be purchased at the door for $3. 2. JUNGLE MEMBERS – Jungle T-shirt order forms are now available in the office. There are two styles: one is white and the other is black. Shirts are $12 each or you can order both for $24. Pick up your order form in the office today and return it by Friday, Dec. 21 st . 3. Attention seniors: Are you interested in applying for the Franklin B. Walters All-Scholastic Award? If so, the application and required documents are due in the HS Guidance Office by January 22, 2013. Stop by HS Guidance to pick up an application. 4. Attention seniors – The Pioneer Electric Coop Scholarship is now available. Your parents need to be Pioneer Electric customers to qualify. First place scholarship amount is $2,000 and second place received $1,500. Please stop in the Guidance office for more information. 5. Attention Juniors and Seniors - The Ohio Farmers Union Joseph Fichter Scholarship is now available in the Guidance office. Applications must be postmarked by December 31st, and parents need to be members of the Ohio Farmers Union for the student to apply. 6. High school students that are interested in participating in a 2013 summer program to get a head start on the path to college can stop in the guidance office to find out what opportunities are available for them at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. 7. Attention Freshmen! Your class officers will be hosting an “After Exam” game night on January 17th, 2013. Tickets go on sale in Ms. Williams classes today until Christmas Break for $5 each, and profits go towards the freshmen class fund. 8. High school yearbooks are on sale for $25 dollars until Christmas break. Just return the order form to Mr. Lynxwiler to preorder the 2013 book. After Christmas the price goes up. Also we still have a few copies of last year’s book for $30. Don’t regret it in ten years, get your memories in full color. 9. Those students who took the PSAT will meet in the media center during second homeroom on Tuesday for results interpretation. 10. The next meeting of the Red Cross Club will be Wednesday, December 19 th . 11. The French Club will meet during homeroom on Thursday, December 20 th to work on the Creche Project. This meeting will take place in Mrs. Shank’s room during both homerooms so bring your lunch with you. 12. Attention NHS Members - ALL NHS t-shirt orders and $$ are due by 3pm on Monday the 17th! 13. Attention HS Choir Members – there will be a full choir practice in the choir room next Tuesday and Thursday during the 2 nd Lunch/2nd Homeroom time. Choir members who typically eat second lunch will need to eat during first lunch both days. 14. NO GIRLS SOCCER WORKOUTS THIS WEEK. Leadership meeting will be after school in Mr. Cotrell's room on Wednesday. 15. The Varsity Boys Basketball Team defeated Northeastern Friday night by a score of 61-46. Leading scorers for WLS were Landon Hormann-14, Grant Burden-13, Travis Mayse-13, Ben Burden-10, Conner Woods-10. The JV team lost 34-32. Ross Kelley led the Tigers with 11.

1. ALL STUDENTS WANTING TO ATTEND THE TALENT SHOW ON FRIDAY – Pre-Sale Talent Show tickets will go on sale on Monday, December 17th and can be purchased through Friday, December 21st during lunch. 2. The Varsity Bowling teams competed against Northeastern also on Friday. The boys won 2098-1848. Top bowlers for WLS were Phil Davis-264 and Justin Dallas-209. The girls lost 1896-1853. Top bowlers for WLS were Emily Crook-194 and Codi McNutt-163.

3. The West Liberty-Salem Wrestling Team competed in the Versailles Invitational on Saturday and placed 8th as a team. WL-S defeated Arcanum and National Trail, but lost to Covington, Sydney Lehman and Triad. For WL-S, Josh Cordell was 5-0, Trevor Anderson was 4-1, Damon Walters was 2-0, Isaac Cheetham was 1-4 and Hunter Stewart was 0-1.
