As you know, the holiday season can be joyous, hec-tic, celebratory — and expensive. And while you cer-tainly enjoy hosting family gatherings and giving pres-ents to your loved ones, you’ll find these things evenmore pleasurable if they don’t add a lot more weight toyour debt load. And that’s why you’ll want to followsome smart money-management techniques over thenext few weeks.

To begin with, try to establish realistic budgets forboth your entertaining and your gift giving. When youhost family and friends, don’t go overboard on yourexpenditures. Your guests will still appreciate yourefforts, which, with a little creativity, can create a wel-coming and fun experience for everyone. As a guidingprincipal, keep in mind these words attributed toJohann Wolfgang von Goethe, the famous Germanpoet and philosopher: “What you can do without, dowithout.” Set a budget and stick to it.

And the same rule applies to your gifting. You don’tneed to find the most expensive presents, or overwhelmrecipients with the sheer volume of your gifts. This isespecially true if you, like so many people, have beenaffected by the tough economy. Everyone you knowwill understand that gifts don’t have to be lavish to bemeaningful.

Furthermore, by sticking to a budget, you won’t betempted to dip into your long-term investments to payfor fabulous parties or mountains of gifts. It’s never agood idea to tap long-term investments for short-termneeds, but can be especially bad when your investmentprices are down, as they may well be this year.

So, if you want to stick to a budget but you don’twant to raid your investments, how can you pay foryour holiday season expenses? If you can spread outyour purchases, you may be able to pay for them fromyour normal cash flow. But if that’s not possible, youmight want to consider “plastic” — your credit card.Using your credit card does not, by itself, need toamount to a financial setback, especially if you’ve cho-sen a card that offers favorable terms and you’ve alreadyshown the discipline not to over-use that card. Just tryto minimize your credit card usage over the holidaysand pay off your card as soon as you can.

Of course, you can make your holiday season mucheasier, financially speaking, if you’ve set up a holiday

fund to cover your variousexpenses. While it’s too late toset up such a fund this year, why not get an early start onthe 2012 holiday season? Allyou need to do is put awaysome money each month intoan easily accessible account, separate from your everydayaccounts. You don’t have toput in a great deal, but you doneed to be consistent, which iswhy you may want to have the money moved auto-matically, once a month, from your checking or savingsaccount to your holiday fund. When next year’s holidayseason rolls around, you might be pleasantly surprisedby how much you’ve accumulated.

But for now, following some common-sense moneymanagement practices can help you get through theholiday season in financial shape — and that type ofresult can get your new year off to a positive start.

Wow is BeautiControl is onthe Lips of Every Woman. Ifyou didn’t catch the NYCFashion Week, BeautiControlwas the official makeup spon-sor for Style 360’s FashionWeek… and on the lips of allthe Kardashian’s on the frontrow! Way Cool!

So how do you capture thatlook for yourself and addsome Holiday Sparkle?

Remember that Smokey eyes are back. Create a boldsmoky eye look using bold, dark colors or mutedshades.

Lips - if you’re creating your smokey eyes with bold, dark colors, wear a neutral shade to balance out yourlook. If you’re using more muted shades to create yoursmoky eye, use a bold lip color to make a statement.

Full Brows - eye brows create the frame for your

face. Full brows are in and can transform your look toelegant or trendy chic.

Accessory Add Ons - Skins - show some skin thiswinter and fall. Colored snakeskin purses and shoesadd a luxurious, fun accent to your look. Jewelry -don't play it subtle with your jewelry. Make a state-ment and add some flare-especially when you're don-ning a more simple look with your fabrics. Purse -undersize - pack lightly. The trends for this season callfor more pouches than purses.

And last but not least - Shoes - pump it up withclassic looking shoes to tone down your bold prints oradd some boldness to simple fabrics with skin-texturedshoes in bold colors.
