Monthly Board of Directors’ Meeting

Wednesday, March 21 7:00 p.m. at the Clubhouse

All are welcome to attend to find out what is happening in our community.

All residents – please remember that you are bound by certain restrictions in your Covenants and by-laws about doing any-thing outside to your property or home. You agreed to this when you bought your home in Cambridge when you were inter-viewed by office personal just before your closing or after you purchased. Prior to doing anything to the outside of your property, contact the Board of Direc-tors first. At that time you will receive a form to fill out indicating what type of work is to be done. For sections 2 and 3, you will be given the paint codes approved by the association to paint your house. If you devi-ate from the approved colors you will sub-ject to fines of $100.00 dollars a day, up to $5000.00 dollars. Section 1 is not restricted to house paint color or mailbox choices. Please PICK UP AFTER YOUR DOG! There is a lot of dog waste that is not being picked up along Constitution Blvd. That is part of the responsibility of owning a dog.

Entertainment Director’s Report The February Dinner Dance was a great success. People really enjoyed the pot-luck. There was a large variety of deli-cious food. The band, Permanent Affair, kept the dance floor pretty crowded. Please note that the March dinner dance will move to the 24th to accom-modate Big T's schedule. An authentic Irish meal of corned beef, potatoes, cabbage, soda bread and trifle will be offered. Also note that due to Easter Sunday, the April breakfast will be held on the second Sunday, April 8. Upcoming events: Sunday morning breakfast is March 4th. March 10th is the annual fashion show. March 14th there will be a scavenger hunt or-ganized by Libby Jensen who also orga-nized the very successful trivia night in January. Later in the year, we are also going to have a party for residents and their dogs. Finally, there has been a request for a yoga class. So, if you are interested in leading (or participating), let me know. Nothing gets done in the entertainment arena without lots of volunteers. When you come to a community event, please give a personal thanks to the many people who help out. You will also begin seeing some fresh faces. Car-ol Stuart has kindly pitched in to organ-ize our "new" volunteers. She'll be call-ing and also taking names.

March Neighborhood Crime Watch Please come to the Martin County Sheriff’s Department cook out on March 7th in Zeus Park, Hobe Sound. It was a huge success last year and I’m sure it will be this year. Here’s also hoping that you attended the February 21st board meeting to meet with our Sherriff’s department. They always have exciting, important news to pass on. I’ve received two notices from FPL Energy Services warning me about costly water system failures. It looked somewhat official, but it dawned on me that FPL has nothing to do with water as that is an SMRU responsibility. In looking at it closer I realized that this was a ‘Insurance’ pitch. If you get one of these letters don’t let the ‘FPL’ throw you. I can’t say that this is a real scam unless someone buys the insurance and has a difficult time getting them to pay up. Stay safe

Annual Flea Market

Second Annual Cambridge Scavenger Hunt! Wednesday, March 14, 5pm

We had so much fun the last time, we’re doing it again! And yes, this will also be a photo scavenger hunt - meaning you and your team will be out scouring the local streets to find the items on the list and then taking a team photo with those items. Teams of 4 - one person will drive. Phone with camera necessary. Potluck and BYOB. We will eat after the hunt. Pa-per products will be supplied, bring your own glass. RSVP by March 13 to Libby at 978-478-8591 (call or text) or [email protected]. Come join in the fun!

One of the best things about our community is the help of volunteers to do the many things that need to be done here. I would like to start using this space to give a shout out “Thank You” to anyone who has helped to make Cambridge a better place. I need YOUR help to make this happen - please let me know when you see/know of someone who deserves to be thanked. Lotsa Help Around the Clubhouse Ken Rice Brownie Stuart

Smoking vs No Smoking A new petition will be circulating in Cam-bridge to ban smoking at the pool. Over-whelming support for a ban was evident at

the February Board meeting from the many homeowners in attendance. In order to have a revote we need signatures from at least 2/3 of homeowners (one signature per house-hold), so even if you don’t go to the pool please vote consid-ering the rights of the folks who go for exercise and socializ-ing in a healthy environment.

We really need your participation!

Volunteers are always needed and appreciated. This is an excellent way to meet your neighbors and help the commu-nity. Please call Carol Stuart at 772-932-7526 or sign up at Clubhouse on the wall outside the office. If you helped out in some way and you are not listed, my apologies. Let me know and I will include you next month!

Linda and Ernie Neeld express their sincerest appreciation and thanks to the many, many people who helped to make this year’s Flea Market a success. Tentative proceeds as fol-lows: Bake Sale: $261.16 Snack Bar: $346.96 Raffle basket: $1,187 White Elephant: $1,653 Rental tables: $416 Grand total: $3,864.12
