Fashion, Food & Fun Table Talk - Decorating Tips from the pros Planning a party with friends and family? Fun in theory, nightmarish in execution! The bickering begins over decor and ends in a full on taste debate. Ironic, since all you need are a few simple DIY tips from some table decorating experts right here in the Triangle. pride themselves on using what is readily available. Keeping with that same philosophy when setting tables for holiday feasts, these designers prefer to rumble through storage closets and take gardening clippers to the yard when it comes to centerpiece ingredients. Fall leaves mixed with fruits and nuts in a vase is a perfect Thanksgiving table decoration. Guest seating places are easily marked with packaging tags tied to fragrant rosemary twigs or names scribbled on a colorful leaf. For Christmas, write a guests' name on an ornament as a place marker and as a take home memento. Decorate the holiday table with collections. Snow globes, tree toppers and vintage ornaments are perfect as table decorations. One of their favorites is a collection of snowman cookie jars that can decorate a table or mantle until March! Spend your valuable time planning your meal and enjoying your guests. Don't stress over table decorations. They need to support your tableware and meal, not overtake them...keep it simple is the designer's motto! See Moonlight Interior & Redesign Inc. Website or contact them and sign up for their monthly newsletter full of tips. Email. Tips from Greg Warren Flowers: When Greg Warren meets with clients to discuss their holiday decorating needs, he always gets questions about what they might do themselves to enhance their decor or tabletop for the season.

The holiday season is a festive time that calls for flowers that are not normally thought of in the cold of winter. Pictured is a holiday display using beautiful peonies , hyacinths , muscari, all from the Netherlands, garden roses from Ecuador and local camellias combined with lemons , Osage oranges , green grapes, opened pomegranates and evergreen foliage. When using fruit do not forget the beauty of the inner portion of the material, segments and halves of fruit add interest and texture. Always think outside the box and keep your designs clean and simple. Another great tip is to use flowers "en masse". Instead of many different types of floral materials, try using one type of flower such as

tulips or amaryllis. Make a statement by using several bunches of one color and variety giving you maximum impact. Finally, don't forget the candlelight. No tabletop is complete without an abundance of light. To find out more about Greg Warren Flowers check out his Website. Or contact 919-971-7458,Email. Tips from Pizzazzerie: Courtney Dial, an expert in party planning has an online blog with ideas for any kind of party you plan on having. Pizzazzerie says to jazz up your Thanksgiving table by spray painting miniature pumpkins gold. For more fun entertaining ideas for the holidays go to Pizzaaaerie's Website. Courtney launched this site last spring as a guide for entertaining in style with recipe ideas, tablescapes settings, and party decor ideas.

To Bee or Not to Bee

Table Manners Good dining etiquette is always in style. But how to tell the dos from the don'ts? It's a fine line. For instance: DO: eat with your mouth closed. DON'T: eat with your eyes closed. DO: say "Mmm, my mouth is watering!" to compliment your hostess. DON'T: drool on the table.

You may find that last one a challenge, if you're sitting at one of these Holiday tables. So what's Up with China? What's the big deal about having Holiday china? Honestly. How often will you use it? Well, some people use it a lot and

for those who pull it out for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, it is very special no matter how often it graces their table. The good thing is that most Christmas china is affordable. The best way to collect it is by buying a few place settings a year or one setting for every member that joins your Christmas table: a new child, son-in-law, friend, whomever. There are some fabulous choices. Start collecting your yuletide treasures

or adding to your "Christmas Tree" pattern by Spode, or Lenox patterns, "Winter Greetings" and "Holiday". Great bargains are calling you! Belk's is offering 50% off on these pattern's dinner, salad plates and mugs. Crisp winter air, the crackle of firewood and the faint sound of caroling - Christmas has finally come! Celebrate the season with Vietri's "Old St. Nick", a traditional holiday pattern with a touch of whimsy. A combination of plaids, winterberries and Old St. Nick make the perfect holiday collection - for gift-giving and entertaining alike! Found at Quintessentials at North Hills. Take advantage of their Grand Re-opening sale this week with 20% and 25% off specials. Pier 1 Imports in Cameron Village has just made Christmas easier, bigger and better all at the same time! Their holiday collection has so much Christmas glee, that even the grinch-iest of shoppers can find something to love. Pick a Christmas theme and go with it. Snowmen, Penguins, candy-canes to name just a few. And the best part about it is it won't break the bank. The holiday

plates, bowls, mugs, stemware and linens range from $3 to $9. Decorative cookie jars to use as centerpieces are only $24. From casual to casually elegant, there's something to complement every décor - and satisfy every palate. So dig in! But remember to mind your manners... elbows off the table! BTW, the next time there's a

debate about the table? Appoint yourself with confidence as the chair.

Flower arranging is a bit like beer brewing (stay with us). You know what you like, but you rely on others to do the grunt work. Well, here's are

two Christmas "Bud"-get arrangements that are very stunning and easy to make. Try them and you'll be bud wiser. Five rows of red roses are set in close alignment on a block of dampened floral foam. Sprigs of ivy and evergreen surround the flowers and cover the sides of the floral foam. This arrangement could be created in various sizes as you desire. Then place the arrangement in your favorite container, platter, or shallow bowl.

Tie red-and-white peppermint sticks around a vase with a red-and-white grosgrain ribbon. Use a sturdy rubber band to hold the canes in place, or hot-glue them to an inexpensive vase. What a jolly presentation for usually formal red roses.

TheBeltlineBuzz items are selected by our editors. No one can pay to be featured on TheBeltlineBuzz. That's what advertising is for, and it's always labeled as such. Selling ourselves (literally) would destroy the legitimacy, integrity, and fun of TheBeltlineBuzz. Plus, we'd never earn your trust that way. So we'll never make a dime off your meal at a restaurant nor a penny from the sale of the latest accessory we told you about. That said, on occasion, we will send out "Dedicated" e-mails on behalf of sponsors. You'll recognize them from the subject line: "TheBeltlineBuzz Dedicated E-mail." Yes, these are paid for. And, no, we would never sell our subscriber list to anyone. Not for any amount
