The Humboldt Family Aquac Center is located in the center of the Humboldt community, on Sumner Avenue. This is a public pool serving individuals from Humboldt & Dakota City, as well as those from surrounding communies. The Aquac Center opened in May of 2006. The Humboldt Family Aquac Center helps create a feeling of pride and a sense of community value for our cizens. The HFAC serves children and adults, in- cluding some challenged with a physical or intellectual disability. The Aquac Center staff connually works toward improving the facility and adding programs while sll providing a safe environment. These leisure acvies al- low people to use their minds and bodies, promong overall healthy living. Injury/Accident Policy… The Humboldt Parks & Recreation Department will not be held responsible for any injury or accident occurring while participating in any of our events.

The City of Humboldt takes pride in providing clean safe parks, trails, green

spaces, and recreational facilities for the benefit of citizens and visitors. The

Humboldt Parks Department is responsive to and directed by the diverse and changing needs of our

patrons as we plan for the future growth and expansion of park facilities and

trails. We strive to enrich lives by providing safe and welcoming facilities for the enjoyment of people of all ages, income, background, and ability to play

and learn to be good stewards of our environment. We continually strive to improve existing facilities while seeking opportunities for future development.

Humboldt Parks

Bicknell Park 1.7 acres, located at 1st Ave N & 9th St N.

Bicknell Park boasts a 12’ statue of Frank

Gotch, World Champion Wrestler. It also has a

band shell and playground equipment.

George Beebe Park

.75 acres, located on 1st Ave N & 10th St N.

Beebe Park has a shelter thanks to the Jack

Bradley family, who contributed towards the

park shelter. Fishing area is frequented by

many local anglers who catch excellent walleye

& northern.

John Brown Park

2.5 acres, located at 2nd Ave S & 5th St S.

Includes a historic large stone fountain as the

centerpiece, playground equipment, open

areas, and many memorial benches to sit &

relax. This park is the second oldest in the city.

Worthington Park

2 acres, located at 6th Ave SW, across from Our

Saviors' Lutheran Church. Recreational facilities

for youth & adults, including a beautiful

gazebo, park shelter, and playground

Taft Park 9.4 acres, located on 5th St N & 2nd Ave N Our

largest park features Wildcat Wonderland, a

unique wooden playground including slides,

swings, swinging platforms, tire nets, terraces,

& outdoor classroom. Also offered are a skate

park, basketball courts, sand volleyball, and

softball. A shelter with restrooms is also

available. Lots to do in the center of town.

Jim Heinz Youth Sports Complex

4 acres, located on Highway 3 W near the

Humboldt Airport. This facility includes 3 Little

League baseball fields, complete with electric

scoreboards, concession stand, restrooms,

drinking fountain, & parking area.

Lake Nokomis Park

1.3 acres, located near the Joe Reasoner Dam

on the West Fork Des Moines River. The park

offers electrical service & a beautiful view of

the Des Moines River looking West over Lake

Nokomis.

Humboldt Fish Hatchery & Swan Pond

19 acres, located on Highway 169.

Every year the Parks & Recreation

Department receives thousands of

walleye fry from the DNR. The fry are

raised in the ponds until they reach 2-

3” in length, then released into the

river. This is one of the few programs of

its kind & a truly unique asset for our

community. Since 2004 Humboldt has

had 2 Trumpeter Swans from the DNR

as an effort to reestablish the swan

population in Iowa.

Turtle Park 1.1 acres, located on S 9th St. Nice

nature area on the bank of the West

Fork of the Des Moines River with

playground equipment.

table needs.

Union Cemetery is a beautiful, serene place on the outskirts of Humboldt. It has a blend of generations of citizens, from the earliest settlers of the area to today's loved ones. It is a great place to explore and visit, recalling the lives of those that have come and gone before us.
