Subject:- Minutes of meeting held on 19.2.2020 in KVS(HQ) to discuss the issue relating

to Internal Assessment in Class XI (Mathematics) and Class IX during the

Session Ending Examination 2019-2020.

Please find enclosed herewith a copy of minutes of the meeting held on 19.2.2020 in

KVS (HQ) relating to above mentioned subject. You are therefore requested to ~o through

the content of the said minutes and send comments to the undersigned within 3 days i.e.

MINUTES OF THE MEETING

A meeting of the following officers was held in the chamber of Deputy Commissioner (Acad) at KVS (HQ), New Delhi on 19th Feb, 2020 from 10.30 a.m. onwards to discuss the issue related to Internal Assessment in Class XI (Mathematics) and class IX during Session Ending Examination 2019-2020. The following Officers attended the meeting:

Mrs. lndu Kaushik, Member- Secretary of the committee welcomed all the members. Thereafter the committee discussed on the said issue and concluded that the changes are meant for Class XI Mathematics subject only and for all the others subjects, the criteria for passing will remain the same. Internal Assessment for Class XI (Mathematics) for Session Ending Examination 2019- 2020 is to be taken as here under:-

Existing norms Amendment Proposed Mathematics consists of only Theory After the introduction of having a weightage as follows: practical/Internal Assessment part in Theory Weightage class XI Mathematics for session 2019- 100 Marks 2020, Now Mathematics subject will Periodic Tests - (Best 20 Marks consist of two parts: two out of 3 Tests Half Yearly 30 Marks a) Theory - 80 Marks Session Ending 50 Marks b) Internal Assessment - 20 Marks Examination Total Marks 100 Marks Hence following changes are to be

incorporated 1n the Progress Report There was no Internal Assessment of Card Session 2019-2020.

20 Marks zn the academic session 2018-2019. 1. Theory Part consist of 2 exams

a) I-iaif Yearly 30 Marks b) Session Ending 50 Marks

Exam Total 80 Marks

2. Internal Assessment consist of Periodic Tests and activities. The weightage is as follows: Periodic tests ( 10 marks best 2 out of 3 tests Mathematical Activities

10 marks

Total 20 Marks

Clarification Periodic Test:

regarding the

(i) Periodic Test 1 to be considered as the test which is conducted in the month of July/ August, 2019 in Summer Stations and correspondingly in Winter Station.

(ii) Periodic test 3 is to be considered which is conducted m the month of J anuary2020.

(iii) Periodic test 2: Any other test conducted during the session.

Assessment of Activities should be conducted as per the CBSE guidelines: The weightaze is as under:-

i) The activities 05 performed by the Marks students throughout the year and record keeping

ii) The Assessment of 03 activities performed Marks during the year end and test

I Total Mark's iii) Viva Voce

02 Marks 10 Marks

The students have to pass separately in Theory and Internal Assessment obtaining 33% i.e. 26 out of 80 and 06 out of 20 respectively. Student will be declared passed only if he/ she obtains 33% in aggregate i.e. Theory and Internal Assessment taken together also.

Class IX Existing norms Amendment Proposed Progress Report Card/ Result Register of Internal Assessment following column exists: 1. Periodic Test 2. Notebook 3. Subject Enrichment

Progress Report Card/ Result Register in Internal Assessment following changes are proposed: 1. Periodic Test/Multiple Assessment

(e) 2. Notebook/Portfolio (g) 3. Subject Enrichment (i) 4. In addition to above, one

morecolumn may be added before column of Annual Examination reflecting the weightage of internal assessment out of 20 Marks (e+g+i).

Other criteria regarding the promotion to next class will remain the same.
