The programme is open to Bumiputra-owned start-up companies or Entrepreneurs aged between 21 to 40 years old.

No prior contracts with BSJV, government or Government Linked Companies (GLCs) tender previously.

Support provided through a Start-up Accelerator programme (Energy Business Academy).

Successful participants will be awarded a 3-year contract, with potential extensions.

The Energy Business Academy (EBA) is one of the BSJV’s initiative which aims to develop local SMEs competencies and capabilities

who are venturing in the Oil and Gas industry and was launched in Sept 2014.

The main objective of the EBA is to provide trainings and coaching of business owners provided by experts of the industry which

will contribute towards an increase and improvement in the level of market competitiveness of Brunei’s oil and gas industry.

What is it?

▪ A financing program between local banks and contractors, with BSP as a facilitator

▪ Contractors will receive favourable credit terms

▪ BSJV will share contractor’s performance and information to the banks

▪ BSJV will remove termination at convenience clause

Participating banks: BIBD and BAIDURI

Who is qualified?

• Local Bruneian BSP Contractors who have been awarded with a BSJV contract

• Have an account or willing to open a new account with the participating bank

• Contractors must be registered in Brunei / place of business in Brunei

SUMMARY OF BSP CREDIT FACILITY PROGRAM

BSP Credit Facility Program is about

▪ Local contractors will get favorable credit terms and fast-track approval of financing▪ Local contractors will need to consent to BSP to disclose certain information to the bank

periodically for on-going credit assessment, ▪ Local contractors shall advise BSP to pay proceeds under the contract to the lending bank to

amortize the loans▪ BSP will remove the termination clause at convenience but retain the right to terminate

should there be breaches by the contractors

Does not guarantee that qualified contractors will get the favorable credit terms. The banks have specific credit criteria in assessing local contractors and the banks’ decisions are final

BSP does not lend to the local contractors. Participating banks do.
