WELCOME TO THE CONGRESS

Dear Colleagues,

It is a great pleasure to welcome you to the 9th International Congress on Glaucoma Surgery (ICGS), held at the Palais des Congrès, Montréal – Canada on September 6-8, 2018.

Over the last 15 years, the ICGS has emerged as the key scientific meeting in the field of Glaucoma that held the highest scientific calibre and offers an opportunity for immediate skill transfer from some of the most gifted glaucoma surgeons across the globe. This unique scientific meeting generates great enthusiasm and is renowned for garnering widespread interest and enrolment.

The world of glaucoma surgery is evolving fast and thus requires keen cooperation and harmonization between research, device innovations, and technical refinements in the surgical management of patients. The prime focus of the ICGS is glaucoma lasers and surgery; however it endeavours to incorporate all aspects of glaucoma care, including epidemiology, diagnostics and medical therapy in order to be increasingly relevant to the glaucoma practitioner.

Montréal is a city of great charm, vivacity, and gaiety, as well as one of unquestioned modernity and it is renowned for its international flavour and inspiring diversity. The French-English bilingualism and its unique mix of European and North American culture adds dynamism to the city. The congress venue is the Palais des Congrès de Montréal (PCM), located in downtown Montreal, near the historic and cultural areas. The PCM is one of North America’s most renowned convention and exhibition centres with its accessible and innovative facilities thereby giving the delegates adequate opportunity to visit exhibition booths during programme breaks and in between sessions.

We offer you our warmest welcome and hope to make the 9th ICGS Congress in Canada a memorable experience for you.
