Force. He studied very hard j -n the mi l i tary academy he attended

during high sctrool. He knew he was eligible to be an appoj-ntee to

the Air Force Academy because tre met al l the qual i f icat ions. He

rrasn' t marr j -ed; he was 1-B years o1d and he knew you had to be

between the ages of LB and 22; and he was a leader in his class.

in sports. He wrote a let ter of appl icat ion in his senior year and

Michael received his. appointment to the Air Force Academy last

week. He was. named to the posit ion by the President of the United

States. He leaves for Colorado Spr ings, Colorado, next week. He

wil l be on actj .ve duty, a member of the Air Force, from the t ime he

begins his studies there. His program is designed for four years

of col lege courses, wi th his pr imary interest in engineening. He

wil l graduate as an engineer and as a 2nd t ieutenant in the Aj-r

Force. Michael 's fami ly knows his mot ivat ion is high and that he

wil l establi .Sh a study program for himsetf that wil l make him work

hard, but i t wil l be a design that wil l get him through the academy

with high grades. They are very proud of Michael.
