Congratulations to the Chinese Catholic Community and Father Bill Hao!
Archbishop Gregory has elevated the Chinese Catholic community in Atlanta to
the status of a Mission, and has appointed our own Father Bill Hao as its first
Administrator. The Mission will bear the name of the Holy Name of Jesus. For
many years, the Chinese community has celebrated a Sunday Mass at All Saints
Church in Dunwoody.
Father Bill, who has ministered to the Chinese community for many years, will
take on this new appointment while continuing as parochial vicar at Immaculate
Heart of Mary.
Please join me in praying for our brothers and sisters at the new Mission and for
Father Bill as he continues to lead that community as its Administrator.
Your brother in Christ’s word and word,

In ancient Israel, a jubilee year was a time when society hit a “reset” button:
debts were forgiven, land returned to its original owners, and captives were set
free. Pope Francis has called for a special Jubilee Year of Mercy to begin on
December 8 and continue through November 20, 2016: an opportunity to “reset”
our spiritual lives, recognizing God’s infinite mercy and accepting his gift of
forgiveness. Stay tuned for more information about how you can celebrate the
Jubilee Year here at IHM and in your own home. For now, here are a few
practical ways to incorporate mercy into your preparations for Christmas:
1. Experience God’s mercy in the Sacrament of Reconciliation. If you missed
the penance service here at IHM, find one at a neighboring parish. They will
continue throughout the Advent season.
2. Practice the works of mercy. Donate food or warm clothing to St. Vincent
de Paul; visit someone in the hospital; send a Christmas card to someone in
prison.
3. In all your interactions—even with difficult family members, impatient
shoppers or impolite drivers— “Be merciful, just as your Father is
merciful.” (Luke 6:36)
Wednesday: December 2, 9, and 16 Saturday: December 5 and 19 Sunday: December 6 and 20
Classes will resume on January 13 for Wednesday and January 9/10
for Saturday/Sunday.
First Communion Parent Meeting: February 9 Mark your calendars! The immediate preparation for First Communion will begin soon after Christmas. A meeting for parents of First Communion candi-dates, including IHM School students, will take place at 7:00 on February 9, in the church. At least one parent of each student should plan to attend. Children will receive their first Holy Communion at regular Mass times on the weekend of April 30-May 1.

The Christmas Eve and Christmas Day
second collection will benefit Catholic
Charities Atlanta, a 62 year legacy in
Georgia of charity for our most needy
brothers and sisters and a mission inspired
by our Catholic faith. Many of the clients
are members of the working poor who work
several jobs and long hours to support their
families. Many of these individuals are also
facing a life crisis, are alone and frightened.
Catholic Charities Atlanta staff help to
identify their problems and provide them
with the resources to put them on the path
to independence.
“All This I Do For the Sake of the Gospel”
Ten days remain in 2015! Please help us exceed our goal for the
2015 Archbishop’s Annual Appeal by doing all that you can to
fulfill your AAA pledge by December 31. All AAA donations
received from IHM parishioners beyond our parish goal return to us
at IHM without any archdiocesan assessment to help us continue
and enhance our parish ministries and retire our parish debt. So your
AAA gift supports the charitable works of the Archdiocese AND
our parish!
Visit http://appeal.archatl.com to fulfill your pledge today!
If you will be making any year-end charitable gifts, please consider including IHM among them.
Your gift may or may not carry tax benefits for you, but it will certainly help us sustain our
ministries and service our construction debt! The parish office will be closed December 24-January
3; however you may mail your gift or donate online at www.ihmatlanta.org.
Thank you for your good stewardship of Immaculate Heart of Mary at Christmas and always!

Escuchar
Lecturas del día: Miqueas 5:1–4a;
Salmo 80:2–3, 15–16, 18–19;
Hebreos 10:5–10; Lucas 1:39–45.
obedecer a algo negativo.
escuchar a Cristo? © 2015 Liturgy Training Publications. 1-800-933-1800. Texto de Timothy A. Johnston. Textos
