The Emerging Super power - INDIA

India is making significant investments in this emerging technology by way of serious research as well as commercialization efforts

India is fast becoming an attractive destination for global R&D Investments, due to the large pool of qualified scientists and engineers and the excellent educational and R&D infrastructure, coupled with regulated patent regime

150 MNCs have captive R&D Centres in India

Indian nanotechnology is estimated to be USD 100 million and is estimated to grow at over 35% per year

Govt of India has made high investments of Rs.1000 crore funding through DST (department of science and technology) rich infrastructure to academic Institution/ R&D/National Laboratories through NSTI (Nanoscience and Technology Initiative).

NSTC – An Overview NSTC is a non-governmental, privately run body, which

came into existence in the year 2005. It aims to provide, or facilitate in providing of the services that lead to awareness creation, research and development, consultancy, partnering/ collaborations, technology transfer and commercialization of budding Nanotechnologies.

Nano Science & Technology Consortium (NSTC) endeavors to function as a platform that is conducive for the growth, promotion and partnering in the field of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology.

Page 15: Iicci Presentation 02 Sep 08

NSTC Aims and Objectives

• It is high time to make the students- institutions, entrepreneurs- industries, policy makers- governments, and the public at large informed, on the importance, relevance and potentialities of this cutting edge technology. NSTC attempts its best to function as a platform for fostering the Nanotechnology in India and other parts of the world.

• NSTC aims to provide, or facilitate in providing of the services that lead to- awareness creation, research and development, consultancy, partnering/ collaborations, technology transfer and commercialization of budding nanotechnologies.

Page 18: Iicci Presentation 02 Sep 08

Content Development Services

• NSTC specializes in the areas of multimedia content development and multimedia animation. It has in- house expertise, having content developers, layout designers, concept creators, multimedia animators and software programmers. They develop 'specialized contents' by joining hands with the subject matter experts in this emerging domain.

• NSTC provides solutions that facilitates, ready usability of

contents created by it, in the LMS (Learning Management Systems) and claims to deliver customized animated contents, providing a net based or an offline (CD) option.

Page 19: Iicci Presentation 02 Sep 08

Event and Product Promotion Services

NSTC's web site, online publications with global reach, and other offline resources are quite suitable platforms to fulfill the subject aim/ services.

Page 20: Iicci Presentation 02 Sep 08

Nanotechnology Workshops

• NSTC organizes workshops to cater to the interests of two types of participants:

(i) Students/ Institutions(ii) Professionals/ Industries/ Corporates

• These workshops aim to provide broad level information and develop interest in the emerging and exciting area of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology in the students on one hand and to meet the information requirements of the specialized participants from Industries/ Corporates on the other hand.

Page 21: Iicci Presentation 02 Sep 08

Consultancy and Market Research • NSTC entertains this activity in domains that are related to

Nanotechnologies. It can deliver customized strategies including complete business plans for ventures or corporate divisions. We may advise specific actions for entering new markets, launching a product, raising money, or improving revenues/ your business.

• Our initiatives in these areas provide information on

current market trends, future prospects/ projections and the viability of a Nano proposal/ project or query under research.
