-Thenon clogging TURO-pumps
1 ~TURO@1
is the worldwide protected tradename for the EGGERVortex pumps.
The TURO-Vortexpumps have thebenefit of EGGER's45 years expe-rience in solids handling applica-tions. The experience is reflected intodays designs.
The TURa pump is a single stageend suction, radiallysplit casingpump, with centre-line discharge, incorporating the back pull-outfeature.
Separately mounted pump feetallow the discharge to be positioned90° either side of the pump centre-line. It also permits the use of onestandard pump casing for ail diffe-rent pump designs shown onpage 5.
The latest TURa design enhancesthe principe of a hydro-dynamicliquid coupling to transport the pum-ped medium.

TURO advantages
.Non cloggingThe recessed TURa impeller per-mits an unobstructed passagethrough the pump casing, and thisallows solids up to virtually the fulldiameter of the discharge port sizeto pass through without the dangerof clogging.Long fibrous materials can also behandledwithout difficulty.
.Improved hydraulic efficiencies
The TURO pump design incorpo-rates an axial spiral in a concentriccasing, this ensures that solidsentrained in the flow are quicklydischarged from the pump therebyreducing internai recirculation, whichis detrimental to hydraulic efficien-cies and pump wear life.
. Low attrition of medium
Due to the natural flow of the fluid
through the pump casing and thefact that the flow is virtually isolatedfrom the impeller, fragile solids suchas crystals, carbon and live cocklesetc. can be passed through thepump with very little damage. Ideallysuited for low shear applications.
.Simple designThe hydrauliccentering of the impel-1erin the casing and its simple opendesign results in very little radialloa-dings on shaft and bearings. Evenunder extreme conditions whenwear occurs on the impeller, it isconcentric and does not affect themechanical balance of the TUROpump.
.Low running costs
Due to the improved hydraulic effi-ciencies of the TURO pumps, theyabsorb less power than other de-signs of vortex pumps. The gentlepumping action also contributes toimproved wear life of componentparts.
.ReliabilityThe robust and simple design toge-ther with correctly chosen materialsguarantees a long service life. Timehas proven that TURO pumps requi-re very few spare parts when com-pared with other makes of pumps.
.Standardized programmeBecause of a maximum interchan-geability of parts in different pump-sizes and designs, spares can bereduced to the absolute minimum.

Ali horizontal bearing housings have asstandard, oillubrication for the bailbearings.Greased bearings can besupplied on request.
Vertical dry-mounted bearing housingsfor design V/VK are grease lubricated.
Simple construction andmaintenance.
"Back pullout" feature
Using a spacer coupling the completerotating assembly can be removedeasily without disconnectingsuction/ discharge piping or the motor.
Shaft sealing system EGGER-VARIOSEAL@
The shaft seal is designed in such a way that different seal arrangements canbe fitted in the same stuffing box insert without modification. Ail standardelements to DIN-dimensions:
- Stuffing boxes DIN 3780- Mechanical seals DIN 24960
Various standard stuffing box arrange-~ ments available acc. DIN 3780.
Double mechanical seal acc.
DIN 24960 (11-K),back to backNith external sealing liquid.
Single mechanical seal acc.DIN 24960 (11-K),without sealingliquid standard, but flushing connec-tion available.
The hydrodynamic seal EURO-DYN@(Cartridge-Unit) is fully integrated intothe EGGER modular programme.
Double mechanical seal acc.
DIN 24960 (\1-K), back to back withexternal sealing liquid. Seal casingwith cooling or heating jacket.
Double mechanical seal acc.
DIN 24960 (\1-K), in tandem withpressureless internai sealing liquid.
Advantages
. wide choice of shaft sealingarrangements
. the same shaft sleeve is used for
most shaft seal arrangements
. minimum number of spare parts
. easy maintenance
. the shaft is always sealed fromthe pumping liquid. Therefore theshaft is always in standard hightensile steel independent of thepump construction materials
Special arrangements are possible(e.g. mech. seals with stationarysprings). Flushing connections areprovided for.
