SPECIAL PRAYERS ORACIONES ESPECIALES
Jesús nos explica lo que es un buen pastor, y cómo Él, siendo tal, dio su vida por sus ovejas. Lo interesante es que para la mayoría de quienes tenemos responsabilidad de otros, de nuestras ovejas, no se nos pide tanto, no la vida, sino la dedicación de parte de ella. ¿Hasta dónde llegamos en cuidarlas? Somos responsables, por ejemplo, de nuestros hijos, son nuestras ovejas ¿las cuidamos a tal grado que si fuera necesario da-ríamos la vida por ellos, en la práctica? Pues “en la práctica” se nos pide que cuidemos de ellos en todos sentidos, que les enseñemos a amar a su creador, y eso principalmente con el ejemplo. Sólo parte de la vida, no hasta la muerte por ellos. Un tema recurrente, con muy justa razón, es el del tiempo que dedicamos a compartir con esas ovejas-hijos, y otros que tam-bién dependen de nosotros en la familia. El buen pastor acompaña a sus ovejas todo el tiempo necesario, no el que quiere dedicar por fi-jarse otras prioridades, como el ocio o la diversión. Un pastor cuida a sus ovejas de los ataques de los lobos, y pa-ra eso debe acompañarlas, estar alerta para alejar a los ellos. El
buen pastor estaba en el campo con sus ovejas, y las llevaba a buen resguardo por la noche. No-sotros, ¿estamos alertas de los lo-bos humanos que les acechan para pervertirlas o abusar de ellas? ¿Por qué hay padres que se sor-prenden cuando algo malo sucede a sus hijos, de manos de personas perversas? Porque muchas veces no estaban pastoreando debida-mente a sus ovejas.
REFLEXIÓN
Jesus explains what a good shep-herd is, and how He, being such, gave his life for his sheep. The interesting thing is that for most of those who have responsibility for others, our sheep, we are not asked so much, not life, but the dedication of part of it. How far do we go in taking care of them? We are responsible, for example, for our children, they are our sheep, do we take care of them to such a degree that if necessary we would give our lives for them, in practice? For "in practice" we are asked to take care of them in every way, to teach them to love their creator, and that is mainly by example. Only part of life, not even death for them. A recurring theme, with very just reason, is the time we spend sharing with those sheep-children, and others who also de-pend on us in the family. The good shepherd accompanies his sheep all the time necessary, not the one who wants to dedicate to fix other priorities, such as leisure or fun. A shepherd takes care of his sheep from the attacks of the wolves, and for that he must accompany them, be alert to keep them away. The good shepherd was in the field with his sheep, and he kept them safe at night. Are we aware of the human wolves that lurk to pervert or abuse them? Why are there parents who are surprised when something bad happens to their children, from the hands of perverse peo-ple? Because many times they were not properly shepherding their sheep.
