II COLLECTION TODAY. Today our Parish will take up a collection for the Archdiocese for the Military Services, USA (AMS). The AMS relies solely on private donors in support of its mission, “Serving those who serve”; its ministry to provides the same pastoral care and services to Catholics serving in the United States Armed Forces, enrolled in U.S. Military Academies, undergoing treatment at any of the 153 Department of Veterans Affairs’ Medical Centers, working in civilian jobs for the federal government beyond U.S. boarders, and the families of these populations, as other Catholic diocese. While the salaries and retirement of Catholic military chaplains are paid for by the U.S. Government, the AMS receives no funding from government or the military for its programs and services, including the Co-Sponsored Seminarian Program, which provides Priests for home dioceses and for the military chaplaincy. SCHOOL NEWS Beginning November 15, the Student Council will sponsor a Thanksgiving food box drive to provide Thanksgiving boxes for needy families in our school and parish community. Please encourage your child to participate. If you know a local area family in great need, please call the school office, 783-5225. The food drive will run November 15 through 22. Lifetouch Pictures will return to Immaculate Conception School
on Wednesday, November 15, for fall picture retakes. Students who were absent on the original picture date in September or are returning the original picture packet will be eligible for retakes. You can help provide a quality Catholic education for deserving Immaculate Conception students and it won’t cost you a dime! How? Through CTSO, the Diocese’s Catholic Tuition Support Organization, you can elect to divert some of your state taxes and designate where you would like these tax dollars to go, up to $2,173.00 filing jointly or $1087.00 filing singly. You’ll get all of the contribution back because the amount you give becomes a credit that will either increase your tax refund or decrease the amount you have to pay the state when you file your tax return. CTSO brochures are available at the back of the Church. These provide additional information and the form and envelope to make your contribution.
