What you can win
6
1. Great content / great story
2. Personal appearance / how you present yourself
Pitch Training
A great pitch has 2 success factors
9
• Dress up! • Be enthusiastic! If you‘re not, how should I be? • Be confident! Give me the feeling you‘re doing this since years
(even if you‘re not). • Use the whole stage (we will remove the stand) • Be aware of your body language (Feeds on the ground, eyes to the
crowd). • Choose your pitcher wisely! • This is a once in a life chance! Take it! A good pitch is hard and
needs a lot of practice!
Pitch Training
There‘s no second chance for a first impression!
10
1. Your first sentence 2. Problem 3. Solution 4. Why now 5. Why you 6. How to earn money 7. Your last sentence
Pitch Training
A system for a great 3 minute pitch
11
• What you do in one sentence • Keep it simple • Choose it wisely. It‘s the first
impression of the first impression!
Pitch Training
The first sentence (10 sec)
12
“We clean up your shoes when
volcanoes erupt”
• Tell me a story I can agree to.
• Let me feel the pain! • The lava is burning your
shoes
Pitch Training
Problem (30 sec)
13
“The volcano exploded AGAIN!
And ruined my new sneakers!
%$%#*
• Explain simply why your product does solve the problem.
• Make me want it right now! • How will your product change
the world? • Only do a demo if you are
100% sure. The worst thing that could happen is that your demo doesn‘t work.
Pitch Training
Solution (60 sec)
14
“Our patent-pending, military
proofed material let your shoes shine
like they were new.”
• Tell me why your (incredible big) market is ready for your product.
• Why is your product is so much better then anything around.
Pitch Training
Why now (20 sec)
15
Other product My product
Cleans dirt Yes Yes
Cleans volcano dirt No Yes
Re-usable No Yes
• Investors invest in teams, not in ideas.
• Introduce yourself as rockstars.
• What expertise do you have? (or which experts do you know)
• Give me the confidence that you are the best team to realise this idea.
Pitch Training
Why you (20 sec)
16
• A business is only sustainable if it earns money! How will you do that?
• Be confident! • Try to focus on one source. • How do you win your first customers?
Pitch Training
How to earn money (20 sec)
17
• Nail it! It is the last sentence before the judge makes the rating!
Pitch Training
Your last sentence (10 sec)
18
“As you have seen, my product will change the world for shoe lovers – I
would love to get your support”
