• Knowledge is best gained at a pace, in a place and to a depth that is comfortable and controlled by the person, not the doctor

What Knowledge is Best?

• Knowledge needs to be customized for the person, avoiding ‘content overload’

• Knowledge needs to be contemporary and relevant to the person’s needs

• Knowledge needs to be authoritative - “can we believe it?”

When is knowledge needed?

Our research shows that individuals with arthritis need information when:

• They are first diagnosed with arthritis• When a new treatment becomes available• When they are contemplating surgery
