Workshop GoalsWorkshop Goals

• The purpose of the workshop is to share project progress and to generate ideas for future development.

• This is NOT a user’s meeting; but rather, it is an opportunity to discuss the current status and future plans for the IMPRINT Tool and supporting research.

Challenges

Evolving analysis demands Support System of Systems Analyses Support analysis of joint operations Represent human behavior in network simulation Consider alternative maintenance concepts

(e.g. increased crew maintenance) Decrease barriers to usage

Bi-modal set of users User interface too broad and deep with addition

of new features Encourage valid analyses Information assurance constraints (i.e. security) Maintain platform compatibility

Package more human factors R&D results

Enhanced IMPRINT maintenance modeling Improved the fidelity of modeling direct support maintenance Increased capacity to model maintenance of complex systems (more

components, systems, tasks) and more of those systems with longer scenarios

integrated transition between operator and maintainer analyses such that maintainability variables will directly impact operational system effectiveness.

Developed concepts and prototypes for IMPRINT ver. 8 (two products, Standard and Pro)

Investigated the validity and robustness of dynamic human task scheduling constructs such as the WinCrew strategies, information processing/process control theory (IP/PCT), and goal oriented behavior modeling.

Mapped IMPRINT taxons to skills and abilities in SkillsNET objects (thru Navy’s SEAPRINT program)

Codify literature on vibration and thermal environment stress effects

- Enter into Matrix developed by UCF under the OPUS MURI

- Conduct meta analysis to inform development of new stressor performance moderators in IMPRINT.

- Extend to vigilance, training, time, team in FY05

Updating IMPRINT StressorsUpdating IMPRINT Stressors

Options for Incorporating Changes to Performance Shaping Functions

A. Change default algorithm in IMPRINT source code– Requires new release

B. Input new algorithm using “custom stressor” feature– No change to source code– User defined models only

C. Use IMPRINT variables, beginning and ending effects– No change to source code– User defined models only– Greater user skill required

D. External Model Calls to more complex models– User defined models only– Greater user skill required
