Erna Ruth Cahill was born on April 25, 1916, in

Alban Township, Grant County, South Dakota, to Louis and 0’Tillie (Hauer) Bihrle. Her marriage to James W. Cahill took place in St John’s Lutheran

parsonage in Revillo, South Dakota, on June 1, 1934. The couple lived on the family farm near Albee, South

Dakota, until moving to Milbank in 1993.

Erna is survived by her son, James Pierce Cahill of Palm Springs, CA; many nieces and nephews; and

her loving friend, Kathy Mathiason of Milbank.

Preceding her in death are her parents; husband, James Cahill; and her family of six sisters; and one

brother.
