2 Corinthinas 5:1
“For we know that if
the earthly tent which
is our house is torn
down, we have a
building from God, a
house not made with
hands, eternal in the
heavens.”
As I woke up on the first day of the year, out
of nowhere, the verse from Revelation 21:5,
“ Behold, I am making all things new” popped-
up in my mind. Immediately I felt the urge to
write down some thoughts. Reflecting also at
the transition from the old year to the new year provoked me, that morning, to dig
deeper in the Word of God. So, as we greet one another with the traditional greeting
“ Happy New Year ! ” let us be reminded of the promises of God Who, from His posi-
tion of authority and sovereignty, said: “ Behold, I am making ALL things new.”
To me this thought — I am making ALL things new, is so provoking !!! I looked
back at the beginning of the old year to see the
Spirit's challenge in January 2011. I was pleas-
antly surprised to see that the title of that news-
letter was: A New Year — A New Level of Spiritu-
al Transformation. So, in a sense, I feel that the
Spirit wants us to continue that theme. In other
words, God is actively working at all levels,
transforming us as individuals, transforming the
Church as a godly community, with the final
intention in mind — to make ALL things NEW .
As a matter of fact God told John to “Write, for
these words are faithful and true” (Rev. 21:5(b)). In a world in which there is no security, no
confidence, and no peace God comes with a trustworthy promise: Behold, I am
making all things new. With this in mind I can
declare with confidence — ALL things are going
to CHANGE. Why? Because God said so. God is
faithful and He is going to fulfill ALL of His prom-
ises.
Do you have financial problems??? Things are
going to CHANGE. God is making new things in
your life. (See Heb. 13:5(b)).
Do you have family issues??? Things are going
to CHANGE. God is going to enter in your familyand will make CHANGES. (See 1 Cor. 7:16).
Do you have difficulties with other people???
Rest assured that God is CHANGHING the dy-
namic of your relationships. (See Prov. 16:7).
Is your church in turmoil??? God is in control
and He is making CHANGES in your church. (See
Acts 20:28)
Does your country, or state, or city is passing
through difficulties??? This is a sign that God is at
2 Corinthinas 5:4“For indeed while we
are in this tent, we
groan, being burdened,
because we do not want
to be unclothed but to
be clothed, so that what
is mortal will be
swallowed up by life.”

work making CHANGES. (See Ezk. 22:30).
Very briefly, as children of the Almighty, let’s survey God’s work in our lives. If we are sincere and carefully
look back at what happened in our own lives we can declare that
God oversees ALL the events in our ephemeral existence with the
purpose to make ALL things NEW .
Physical birth: God knew
the time and the place of everyone’s biological birth. He knew if we are going
to be a boy or a girl. He knew our parents and all the circumstances of ourlives. (See Ps. 139:13-14).
Spiritual birth: In God’s providence of grace, at the proper time (kairos),
God orchestrated a set of circumstances by which the Word of God (the divine
seed) to penetrate our heart and mind and become new creations in Him. (See
Titus 3:5).
New mind: Being part of God’s family, from the point of spiritual birth
onward, the Spirit of God provoked us to a progressive renewal of our minds.
God’s objective is that each of us as brothers and sisters of Christ to have the
mind of Christ in us. (See 1 Cor. 2:16, Php. 2:5).
New character: Being born again, not only of the
Word but of the Spirit also, God continues to work deep
inside our core beings to become, every day, more like Christ. (See Eph. 2:23-24). New bodies: These days people try very hard to preserve their youthfulness by trying to eat right, exercise,
meditate, and do all sorts of other things to extent their physical existence. However, on this part of the sun —
on our ephemeral existence, human beings get old and eventually die. The extremely good news is that above
all of these God promises each and everyone of us new bodies. (See 1 Cor. 15:53-54).
New society. Throughout history, human beings tried very hard to eliminate God from their existence and cul-
ture. However, the more they tried to push God away, the more God’s love persuaded people. In the end, God’s
objective is to pitch His tabernacle in our midst. In the last book of the Bible we read, “Behold, the tabernacle of
God is among men, and He will dwell among them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself will be
among them” (Rev. 21:3). (See also 1 Peter 2:9, Eph. 2:19 -20).
New city: God is at work all the time. Because we don’t always know it or see what God does it does not mean
that He is inactive. The Word of God declares, “My Father is working until now, and I Myself am working.” The
Lord Jesus went ahead of us in haven to prepare aplace for each of His brothers and sisters. “If I go
and prepare a place for you, I will come again and
receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you
may be also” (John 14:3). God’s chief preparation is
the New Jerusalem which will decent from haven
on the new earth. The apostle John had the privi-
lege to see this vision ahead of time and he wrote,
“And he carried me away in the Spirit to a great and
high mountain, and showed me the holy city, Jeru-
salem, coming down out of heaven from God, having
the glory of God. Her brilliance was like a very cost-
ly stone, as a stone of crystal-clear jasper” (Rev. 21:10-11).
(See also Heb. 12:22, Gal. 4:26). So, this time when we greet one onther with the
traditional greeting “ Happy New Year !” let it resonate in our
hearts and minds God’s declaration: “ Behold, I am making
ALL things NEW.”
