prevention of illness and diseases

Page 3: Ind eng-560-ppt

Origin of the Thought The school and class surroundings were not kept clean on a

regular basis The teachers put forth the problem on debate Students discussed the reasons for the problems

Outcome of discussions Students concluded that : Class attendance has been low due to illness which feeds into low

academic scores. Parents spend a lot of money on medicines and treatment . Communities are not conscious that their surroundings are not

clean. Communities do not make the connection between unhygienic

surroundings and increasing cases of illness.

How we changed

Students have a greater sense of responsibilty towards the society. They want to take up more issues and do something about it.

Some students have already come up with ideas – they want to collect money to buy more dustbins for the school. Some want to find a way to put street children into school. They want to visit their houses and convince their parents to send those kids to school.
