1
There are no extra pieces in the universe.
Everyone is here because he/she has a
place to fill and we should all fit into
the big jigsaw puzzle.
‘Power In We’ is the story of Collective Unity and Coherence. The story of
each courageous, confident and irreplaceable “me” coming together and soaring to higher levels
of thinking, doing and being. It is indeed this unwavering faith in the ‘Power in We’ that united
the most diverse of cultures and minds into a single force, which laid the foundation of the India
we live in today.
We salute the prowess of the people of India and embody the same spirit. The same force leads
our bright young minds to work together with the institute and corporates to forge a harmonious,
synergistic relationship. It indeed is this collective unity that brings about a better understanding
of the aspirations of our students and makes us more dynamic and responsive to the changes
taking place in the industrial world. We are committed to bringing the ‘Power in We’ to our
stakeholders, in ways that will benefit us all.
This is the Power in We. Let’s all work together and create a more meaningful
tomorrow.

The ‘We’ Paradigm
Power in ‘Me’ is ‘We’
Together Everyone Achieves More
Being same and different at the same time

Indira’s Vision and Mission is a concrete embodiment of the Power in We.
Embracing the spirit of diversity and inclusion , we welcome equally valuable
‘me’s and explore our unique strengths for attaining individual and common
goals.

To develop managers and entrepreneurs who serve the national and global economy as well as the society and world at large.
To foster, strategic alliances with industry for research and its application.

In an ever changing globalised world, we can truly empower our youth by teaching them
to embrace their individuality and uniqueness while appreciating the fact that it is in our
differences and diversities that we find harmony and complementary living. The amalgamation
of these two simple ideas encapsulates the perspective behind Power in We.
The ‘We’ way is about learning to depend on one another with gratitude and humility while
embracing our responsibility to be our best for them in return. By providing a platform that
embraces people from diverse backgrounds who constantly work together to play their unique
part, we foster appreciation of collective unity and diversity.
This message of collaboration and collective unity is a common thread shared by all at
Indira.
EVERYBODY IS SOMEBODY and is driven by the motivation to strive to be the best we can be,
lift and cooperate with one another. And in doing so we become the dream team that we
were meant to be- our faculty, students and corporate partners, each entity stepping up and
complementing the other to attain individual and common goals. We work towards creating a
workforce that lives and breathes the same spirit. For we believe, it is truly all for you and you
for all.
‘We’ invite you to come and be a part of this exciting journey, excitement that stems from
insight, understanding and fulfillment of one’s true potential and most importantly from
succeeding while helping others succeed.
Look forward to your participation in the Placement Season beginning from October 2011.

Indira Institute of Business Management (IIBM), affiliated to
Mumbai University and approved by AICTE has emerged as one
of the premier Institutes and a preferred destination for aspiring
managers across the country. It gives me a great pleasure to announce that the 2010 -12 batch
of MMS students is now ready to serve the corporate world.
Management is not only about theory, but also about power struggles, negotiations, working
in a multi cultural environment and dealing with stress. At Indira our thrust is not just on
imparting knowledge, but also in inculcating skills and attitudes necessary for managerial
function. Our students are nurtured into motivated and self driven individuals ready to take
over the mantle of leading India through challenging times of today. Students are exposed
to research based academics with application orientation and a host of sport, cultural and
organizational activities on its vibrant campus. World Class State- of the- art infrastructure
and vigorous institute-industry collaborations help students of IIBM Navi Mumbai to excel
and be ahead in the competitive professional environment.
We also inculcate in our students the feeling of brotherhood and teamwork through various
team building activities and experiential training. No person who wants to do it all by himself
or get all the credit will make a great business. Our students understand that the power of
all is the power of one and hence are able to adapt to multifunctional and cross cultural
environments quickly.
In the words of Ralph Marston. “All things excellent are as difficult as they are rare.” Thus
at IIBM, we impart excellence and rarity to its students in fields other than just academic
achievements.
We highly value our partnership with recruiters, alumni and friends of Indira Navi Mumbai
and are committed towards making your recruiting experience productive and positive. I
invite the recruiting organizations to participate in placement season of 2010-12.
With best wishes…

Change with rapidity is perhaps the only constant in the world
today. It is more relevant in the context of the business and
management. These changes often makes us anxious and fearful
for future but also offer an unprecedented set of opportunities to those who have the capacity
to shape future.
Management institutions have also to seize these opportunities and deliver pro-active
managers with competence and commitments to fulfill the needs of the society. Managers
who have resilience drive and look at life and work from the stand point of social relevance of
learning, earning and sharing.
We at Indira Institute of Business Management(IIBM), Navi Mumbai have started on this
mission of ‘creating’ future- in our humble way.
We believe in holistic development of personality and shaping values of students and emphasize
and reward hard and honest team work more than Academic brilliance.
We genuinely believe that our country needs such managers in all walks of life and we strive
to make our bit of contribution in this regard.
Our educational programs and dedicated faculty both internal and invited reflect their
commitment to these values. The pedagogical methods and tools are accordingly used to
achieve these objectives.
Business education for us is not a ‘business’ but a ‘mission’ of our existence.
We take this opportunity to invite you to our campus for a Placement interaction with the
students.

From its inception in 2008, Indira Institute of Business
Management(IIBM) has established itself as one of the most
successful and credible educational bodies of its kind in the nation.
With over a decade of experience of IGI in the field of education, IIBM has attracted students
from all over the country and has developed strong links with India Inc.
I can say with complete confidence that IIBM presents one of the finest management educations
in the country as it is a community of learners, striving to educate the mind, nurture the spirit,
and foster the development of the whole individual. IIBM’s dedicated and talented faculty
supports the mission and as they continue to seek educational growth for themselves, they
bring new and innovative ideas back into the classroom. The thirst for knowledge and love of
learning thrive at IIBM in both students & Professors.
If you believe that successful management is based on genuine capabilities and profound
knowledge, if you wish to go beyond success, and if you are confident that you are among the
very best, then IIBM is the place just for you.
WE welcome you to be with the Class of Knowledge leaders. WE welcome you to be with one
of the top ranked Business Schools in the country.
Dr. Subhash Kulkarni Director
Indira Institute of Business Management

It is my great privilege to present to you the placement brochure of
Indira Institute of Management (IIBM) MMS batch 2010-12.
As, the world’s Business environment today is changing rapidly Indira Institute of Business
Management (IIBM) is leading from front. The students of Indira Institute undergo a rigorous
programme where they are trained to not only have strong personalities but also are molded
to adapt to changes quickly. Apart from curriculum as prescribed by Mumbai University,
student knowledge is upgraded through extensive Industry interactions. Eminent faculties
from the industry enlighten students on those current topics which are still to find space in the
textbooks. An exhaustive teaching pedagogy such as case studies, role plays, seminars, group
discussions, book reviews and simulations create a conducive learning environment, making
it more interactive and fun while learning. We strive to build the all round personality of our
future managers.
Only when we unite in spirit, can we truly cope with the challenges we face. As boundaries
diffuse in this ever-shrinking world, this adage assumes greater significance and meaning. At
Indira, it’s our endeavor to imbibe into students a feeling of oneness and the ‘power of we’. The
spirit of togetherness can achieve much more than individual effort. The budding Managers
are also taught to appreciate the plurality of our society where in order to achieve success on a
larger scale it may be necessary to stop and pull along some sections of people as nobody can
get much further unless everybody gets there together. Students are therefore made to realise
that ‘Power of we is in fact the power of me’
We are confident that our students will prove to be sincere, hard-working and capable trainees
who will prove to be an asset to your esteemed organization through their managerial capabilities
and values. We thank you all for providing opportunities to our students and welcome you to
our campus for conducting the selection process according to your requirements.
Best Wishes.........

‘We’ Bring out the Leader in youImprovement undeniably begins with ‘I’ and at Indira we constantly work together to share and engage you in a process of self improvement. The process evolves a high level of commitment that enables you to do more, do different and do better every single day.
Power in We is in inspiring you to step out of the box
Leadership Development Program Just like people aren’t all born with the ability to, say, play football (soccer) like Zinedine Zidane or sing like Luciano Pavarotti, people aren’t all born with the ability to lead. Different personal charac-teristics can help or hinder a person’s leadership effectiveness and require formalized programs for developing leadership competencies Yet, every-one can develop their leadership effectiveness. Achieving such development takes focus, practice and persistence more akin to learning a musical instrument than reading a book. The Leadership Development Program is designed to address the
leadership tensions inherent in leading in the cor-porate zone. LDP builds the skills and confidence you need to build commitment and translate strategy into effective action.
Industrial VisitIndira Institute of Business Management organizes Industrial visits every year to provide the students hands on experience in the ways and means of the functioning of an Industry. the industries requires the best talent and the industrial visits help bridge the gap between academia and the cororate world. These visits consist of plant observations and discussions with the staff in various departments of the organization. They also give valuable insights into organizational behavior and industrial environment.

in the Industry. In October, 2010, Indira Group of Institutes held the INDIRA GLOBAL SUPER ACHIEVER’S AWARDS, Super performers in their own areas of specialization; walked up to the dais to receive their recognition

Life @ IIBMJallosh
Corporate Social Responsibility
Navratri Jallosh holds an important place in the galaxy of events organized at IIBM every year. India is a country of traditions and festivals with a very rich cultural background. It is an endevour at Indira to provide the students with a glimpse of this rich cultures by celebrating the Navratri Jallosh every year. The idol of Goddess Saraswati who is the Goddess of art and knowledge is worshipped and offering of flowers is made to the daity. There is also celebration and Dandia ras. Getting involved in Jallosh has benefits that helps relieve academic tension and provides experience in various social roles.
At IIBM we believe in training our students to become global citizens of the world. Students are groomed to think about not just themselves but also reflect upon their responsibility towards their city, state, and country and also about the civic and moral duties they owe the planet and its people. Corporate social responsibility is not just another subject which is taught here but it is a way of life and students participate in it in various ways such as organizing an eye donation camp or paying tribute to the 26/11 martyrs or even celebrating the spirit of life with differently advantaged and under privileged children.
21
I-Fest is the flagship event of Indira Institute of Business Management, Navi Mumbai. I-Fest includes a number of competitive and non competitive as well as intellectual and entertaining events which attracts participation from renowned institutes across Mumbai.
It serves as a platform for IIBM students to interact with peers from other B-schools and top dignitaries from corporate and social sector. Students also get exposure to skills like people management and project management. As they run around for getting sponsorships, students get a taste of sales function. I-fest is indeed an event conceptualized and organized completely by the students and gives a slice of practical challenges to the future managers.
22
Our Placement Approach
The academic rigour of the future leaders is made complete through the placement programme that introduces them to the corporate atmosphere. The graduating batch enters the real life world of management through the final placement programme, while the first year students get familiarized with the industry through the internship/ Summer projects. The placement activity broadly covers Pre-placement talk, Summer Internship and Final Placement.
Pre-placement Talk
Its an opportunity for the corporate world to get better acquainted with their prospective recruits, both for the summer and final placements. The aim of the pre-placement talk is to address typical student concerns like job description, remuneration package, scope for growth & cross-functional exposure. We request and expect every recruiter to hold a pre-placement session wherein all the above mentioned information could be discussed between the recruiter and students. In the event of any recruiter not being able to hold a pre-placement sessions, we request them to send all the pertinent details to the institute through the response sheet to the placement co-ordinator in advance.
Summer Training
Summer training constitutes an integral part of the sectoral MMS curriculum and is valued for its relevance in management education and its application. Undertaken at the end of first year of the MMS, the summer training is the perfect
Campus Placement & Summers
opportunity for students to apply the theoretical concepts learnt within the classrooms. After completing the first year course work, the students join different organizations for a period of eight to ten weeks on specific assignments as summer trainees. As a part of the internship, students are required to submit a report on the work done. The presentations made by them to the organisation forms the basis for the evaluation of the project work. It is an occasion for prospective managers to explore varied career opportunities in the areas of their interest. They get a better grasp of the important inter-linkages among different functions and develop a realistic managerial perspective on corporate working.
