The King George’s Medical University is organizing an Infectious Disease

Update 2016 on 2nd - 3rd April, 2016 at Scientic Convention Centre at King

George’s Medical University, Lucknow, India.

Lucknow, the city of “Nawabs” boasts of many scientic and historical institutions,

like the Indian Institute of Toxicological Research (IITR), Central Drug Research

Institute (CDRI), National Botanical Research Institute (NBRI), Imambaras and

Shahid Smarak to name a few. The conference would be held at Scientic

Convention Centre of the presitigious King George’s Medical University, which

has more than 100 years of glorious history (1911-2016).

Lucknow is known for its art, culture, warmth and famous for its “Tahzeeb” of

“Pehle Aap”. It is known world over for its “Chikan-kari” - Hand Embroidery. The

Lucknow Gharana of Kathak Dance evolved here. Tunday Kabab and Kakori

Kababs are mouth watering delicacies.

It will be a stage to appraise the road traveled thus far in this context, identify the

roadblocks ahead and formulate a plan to surmount them. We look forward to an

enthusiastic participation from all committed to better healthcare.

Over the years, considerable progress has been made in area of management of

various types of infections in admitted patients. But there is still a long way to go in

addressing issue effectively and efciently. Knowledge regarding potential

tangible and intangible benets arising due to a system of management of

infections in a critically ill / immuno - compromised host is the need of the hour.

The present update has been proposed as a platform to experts for exchange of

ideas, concepts, current available evidence and preventable solutions in a cost

constrained set-up.
