Rabbitisland(waterisonlyknee-high).AstherewasMyndosanticcityinancienttimes,youcanseetheremainsofthefoundationofthebuildingsunderthewater.Also,seasideis

buildinginthesea,towhereyoucanwalk.Wealsowenttothearcheologicalmuseum,thisisverysmall,buttherearesomeancientremainsoftheanticcity.Iasosisaniceplace

tohaveapicnicandenjoywonderfulviews.Innovemberyoucanpickolivesfromthereandasksomebody toteachyouhowtopreparethem.

Thereareallthedancelessons.InsummertimeitisfulloftouristslikeinBodrum,but inwintertimeeverything isclosedand thetownisveryempty.Buttherearewindmillsand

niceviewtoBodrumandifyougodownfromthewindmillshill,youwillfindbeautiful,niceandprivatebeach. Ifyouhavesnorklinggoggles,youcanfindalotofseashellsunder

thewaterhere!GümbetisveryclosetoBodrum,youcanevencomehereonfoot(about40minuteswalk).AlsoyoucancatchadolmuşfromOtogar.

Bitez- ThenicestandcleanestbeachofBodrumpeninsulaishere.Alsotherearealotofbreakfastrestaurantsbytheseaside,theyofferverygoodfood(thepricesarefrom10-20

liras).Ifyouwalkuntiltheendofthebeachside,thereissmallrockyroadby theseaside.FromherebeginsthewaytotheBitezAquarium-wonderfulviewtotheturquise-bluesea

andislands.Ittakesabout45minuteswalktogethere,butitisworthit!Bitezisalsoknownby itstangerinegardens.In november-december itistheseasonoftangerinesandyou

canbuyBiteztangerineseverywhere!ToBitezyoucancomebydolmuş.

Yalıkavak- 18kmfromBodrum.Ifyoucomeherebydolmuş,youcanwalktoSandıma-antiquevillage.Itisinthemountainsandifthereisrainseasons,youcanfindturtlesfrom

theponds!Thereareremainsofthe600yearsoldhouses,butthisplaceisperfecttoenjoy thenatureandpeaceofmountains.Bringalsosomeemptybottleswithyou,because

thereisnaturalspringwater.

Ortakent- 7kmfromBodrum.Here,inMuArtCafearesirtakinightseveryweek.Alsouniversity`sfineartsfacultyishere.Ifyouenjoyarts,youcangotoseeBukalemunartgallery

inthebeachpartofthetown.Youcanfindmosaics,ceramicsandpaintingsthereandatmosphereisreallynice. Ondaytimeyoucancomeherewithdolmuş.Itisnicesmalltown

andbeforeenteringthetown,onthetopofthehillyoucanseewonderfulviewtotheseaandOrtakent.

BoattripsfromBodrum- AllthetravelagenciesinBodrumofferdailyboattripsonsummerseason(fromMayto15.october) Youcanfindoffersevenwhenwalkingbythe

seaside.Theyhavedifferentdestinationsandususallytheycost20liras.Ittakesalmostawholedayfrom11amto5pm.Wewent toBlackIslandboattrip.Ithas5stopsin

differentverybeautifulbluebayswhereyoucanswim.Withsnorklingglassesyoucanseecolourfulfishes.Thepricealsoincludeslunchontheboat.Itisusuallypastawith

meatballsandsalad. TherearealsofreesunsettripseveryTuesday,ThursdayandSaturdayat6pm.Beforethesunsetaboattakespeopletothebaynear thewindmillsandafter

sunsetitcomesback.Itisalltogether2hours.

SwimminginBodrum- Seaisonly 10minuteswalkfromtheoffice.Itissoclosethatweswimmedeverymorningbeforework. Ifyouhavetimeandyouwouldliketosunbathe

andswimwholeday,youshoulddefinitlelygotoBitezbeach.Inthenightwhenthereisno fullmoon,youshouldasksomebody totakeyou tosomedarkerbeach,becauseitis

possibletoseeshinyplancton.Theycallityakamazhereandseeingitisareallywonderfulexperience!

Etrimcarpetvillage-Whenthereistourismseason,travelagenciesoffertourstovillagesandalsotocarpetvillages.OurfriendtookustoEtrimcarpetvillage.Wesawand

touched thesoftestcarpetsever!Andpatternswereamazing!Theyareofcourseveryexpensive,buttotallyhandmadeandin anycaseitisinterestingtoseethiskindofvillage.

BodrumCastle

Thecastleisinexcellentcondition, itnowhousesaoneoftheworld'sfinestmuseums(withexhibitsonunderwaterarchaeology).Mostlystonesusedintheconstructioncomefrom

thetombofkingMausoleumofHalicarnassus.Mausoleum’smassiveconstructionsurvived forcenturiesuntilanearthquakebrought itdowninmedievaltimes.Theknightsused

theruinsasastonequarry.In1522,whilereinforcingthecastle,theyevendiscovered thefunerarychamberoftheking,whose treasureswerequicklylooted. Inthe15thcentury

AD,theKnightsofStJohn invadedtheregion(whoseheadquarterswereonRhodesIsland)andbeganconstructingthecastlethatweseetoday.(www.bodrum.org)

Weatherandnature inBodrumSeptember-hotweather(30-37),alotoftourists.Youcangotoboat trips.Seasonoffigs,grapes,watermelonsandpeaches.

October-weatherisstillwarm(24-28),butthereisnotsomanypeopleanymore.Boattripsarefinishedinthemiddleoftheoctober.Difficulttofindfigsandpeaches.Seasonof

bananas,pomegranatesandorangesstarts.

November- weatherisnot sowarmanymore(around20)andthereisveryveryfewpeopleinthestreets.Everybody isgoingtoworkinIstanbulorIzmirinwintertimeandBodrum

isempty.WewerestillswimmingeverymorninginNovember,butwaterisnot sowarmanymoreandlocalpeople thoughtweare crazyJ Seasonofolives,tangerines,oranges,

pomegranates,andbananas.

December-weatherischillyandintheeveningsyouneedawarmcoat.Electricitybreakdownsareusualandsometimesthereisverycold in theapartment.Seasonoftangerines,

oranges.

Shopping inBodrumFoodbazaar- everyFridaythereisbigbazaarnearbusstation(youhavetogoup fromthestairsofthebusstationbuilding).Youcanfind allkindsoffruits,vegetables,dairyproducts,

nuts,olivesandspicesfromthere.Butwhenitistourismseasonitisveryexpensive.ThereisalsoalternativeforthisJ EveryMonday thereissmallfoodbazaarneartoour

apartment.(ifyougototheAtatürkstreetandturnleft,walkuntilyouseethebazaarontheleft,about300meters).Here is thecheapestgözlemeintown,only2,5liras(usuallyin

otherplacesitis5liras)anditisfreshandwarm.

Supermarkets- thecheapestisCarrefour,itisalsoveryclosetoourhome.(ifyougoout fromtheapartment,turn rightandwalkabout200metersuntilyouseeCarrefouronthe

right).TheyarebringingnewgoodseveryMondayandWednesday.Sometimesvegetablesareevencheaperherethaninbazaar.Fromthereyoucanfindalmosteverythingbutthey

arequitefarfromhome.ButevenbiggerandcheapersupermarketsareKipaandMetro (Makro),buttheseareoutsideofBodrumandyoucantwalkthere.

Clothes- youcanbuyclothesfromOasisshoppingcentre,MidtownMall,AvenueBodrumor fromclothesbazaaronTuesdays(atthesameplacewhereisbigfoodbazaar)

Bakeries- Therearealotofbakerieseverywhere inBodrum,butourfavouritebakery isthenearesttoourhome,itisverygoodandalsocheap.
