We would like to welcome you to one of the most modern, exciting and diverse cities in the Netherlands: Rotterdam. The past couple of months we’ve arranged the best facilities for your meetings, meals from all different cultures present in Rotterdam and a diverse and exciting social program to go along with it. In this information booklet you’’ll find all information you need during TOM4. At the end of this booklet we’ve listed contact information to get in touch with anyone from the OC in case you need to contact us.

Please enjoy this TOM4. When any inconveniences occur or when you encounter any problems please make sure to contact someone from the OC so we can make your stay as comfortable as possible.

KING KONG HOSTEL

The accommodation for this TOM4 will be the brand new King Kong Hostel in the mid-dle of the city centre of Rotterdam and only a 5 minute walk away from the venue.The hostel offers fast and reliable (free) WiFi, plenty of power outlets to recharge your laptops and phones, relaxing workplaces, very modern sanitary facilities and even our own cinema room.

This hostel will be your homebase during TOM4. We’ve arranged for us all to be staying on the same floor. The historic King Kong building was founded in 1872, it has housed a tattoo shop, illegal casinos and a famous brothel, which was known around the world for the most beautiful and exotic women.

The area is packed with Museums, galleries, and avant-garde fashion boutiques. The Witte de Withstraat is well known for its artistic, relaxed multi-cultural atmosphere and it’s Dynamic Night Life.

ERASMUS MEDICAL CENTRE

The meetings for TOM4 will be held in the recently renovated Erasmus Medical Cen-tre. Every morning breakfast will be waiting for you at the venue after which the acutal meetings will take place.

Erasmus Medical Centre offers modern facilities and a fast WiFi network which should make your meetings as pleasant as possible.

Eating & Drinking

BREAKFAST Breakfast will be served at the venue and will consist of a ‘dutch breakfast’. The exact time of breakfast can be found in the program.

COFFEE BREAKSAs every meeting coffee breaks, will be offered on a regular basis. And, as many would expect, of course the traditional ‘stroopwafel’ will be up for grasps as well!

LUNCHLunch will take place at the venue as well in one of the meeting rooms available on that day. The exact time of lunch can be found in the program.

DINNERDinner will most often be served at the hostel and will vary each day. For sure we’ll give you a taste of all that Rotterdam (and its multicultural population) has to offer. In case dinner does not take place at the hostel you’ll be notified about it during the day.

Social ProgramDuring TOM you’ll experience an exciting and diverse social program including the best that Rotterdam has to offer.

NIGHTLIFERoterdam is a very bruising city with lots of bars and nightclubs from which we’ll make a selection base on our own personal experiences there. The exact locations will be announced to you later.

ASH BIRTHDAY BASHSomething that cannot be ignored is the birthday of our very own RC Europe. As a real ‘Rotterdammer’ her birthday will be one of the top nights of our social program. What that means will remain a secret, however if you know Ashley you’ll know what to expect ;-).

For those who want to there will be an opportunity to participate in a ‘shooters workshop’. This will be available for you for a discounted price: 10 euro.

KINGS DAYOn the 26th of april one of the largest national parties of the Netherlands will oc-cur: Kings Day. The night before is know als Kings Night. After decades of celebrating Queens Day, this year will be the first time we’ll celebrate our King.

Kings Day is mainly an outdoor festival which will be celebrated all over the country with musical concerts, flea markets, and a lot of orange people on the streets.

One thing may be clear: be sure to wear something orange!
