I. About Lviv
Lviv is the biggest city of Western Ukraine and
one of the major tourist destinations in the country. It is considered to be the 'Capital of
Western Ukraine' because of its historical and cultural value. Lviv’s historic down town has been on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 1998.
The city is regarded as one of the main cultural centres of Ukraine preserving its traditions and the
unique atmosphere of the Ukrainian hospitality. Lviv's historic churches, synagogues, buildings and relics date from the 13th century. Its
architecture reflects various European styles and periods, which makes the city comparable with the
most famous capitals in Europe.
In the city’s architecture one can see the blend of all the cultures present in the city. In Lviv one can
find huge Polish, Russian, Jewish, and Armenian minorities, who altogether comprise the diversified
population of the city ensuring its cultural development.
The history of Lviv is more than seven centuries
long, and it has never been a calm and stable one. For its lifetime Lviv has been a part of Poland, Austria, Russia, and Germany, and each of the periods has left a vital footprint on
city’s architecture, population and lifestyle. For more information about Lviv visit:
http://lviv.travel/en/index – official travel portal of the city; http://www.lviv-life.com/
http://www.inlviv.info/ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lviv 5 things Lviv is famous for:
Lions, as lion is the symbol of Lviv; Coffee, with numerous coffee places; Patriotism, which is seen everywhere,
even in coffee places; Beer, with various beer brands brewed
around the city; LVIVis2014, which will bring you to Lviv
and hopefully you'll let a part of the city's
spirit stay with you for years!

II. Travel Information
Lviv is one of the four major Ukrainian cities that have been hosting the European football championships “Euro-2012”. Hence, Lviv is a convenient destination to travel to from all
around the Europe.
Trains
Lviv is a large Central European city, thus it is
well connected to the other countries of the region. There are direct overnight trains to
Lviv from Berlin, Warsaw, Prague, Budapest, Bratislava, Bucharest, Minsk, Krakow, Sofia, Rzeszow, Thessalonica, Varna, Venice,
Zagreb etc. A return train ticket price for these destinations is around 100 – 150 EUR.
Airlines
Lviv has an international airport just 7km from the
beautiful downtown. Lviv is served via direct international routes including flights from Vienna
(Austrian Airlines), Frankfurt (Ukraine International Airlines), Warsaw (LOT Polish Airlines), Munich (Lufthansa), Istanbul Atatürk
(Turkish Airlines) and Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen (Pegasus Airlines). Low cost airline Wizz Air flies
to Lviv from Dortmund, Venice-Treviso and Milan-Bergamo.
It is relatively inexpensive to fly from Kyiv to Lviv, with multiple daily flights operated by Ukrainian International Airlines and UtAir. These carriers also operate flights to and from
other major Ukrainian cities, although it is still more common to travel by train
domestically as the overnight trains save you the cost of a hotel while providing you transpiration.
Buses
There is hardly any European capital not
connected to Lviv by bus route (60 – 180 EUR for a return ticket depending on the distance). Ecoline busses are the most comfortable for those coming from Latvia and Estonia http://www.ecolines.net
5
Connection cities:
• Kyiv – a universal travel option since there are always plenty of ways to get to Kyiv
by any means of transport. WizzAir entered Ukraine in July 2008, and at the moment offers daily flights to Lviv (=40 min aboard) with average price of 15-25 EUR for one way
ticket. An overnight comfortable train ride to Lviv from Kyiv costs about 15 EUR. Kyiv is connected with Lviv by 5-6 daily bus routes and 7-8 trains a day.
WizzAir flights are available from Turkey (Antalya), Germany (Meddmmingwen,
Cologne, Hamburg, Dortmund), UK (London), Norway (Oslo), Poland (Katowize). http://wizzair.com
airBaltic is a way for EYPers from Northern Europe and the Baltic states
http://www.airbaltic.com
• Rzeszow, Poland – one of the main reasons why Rzeszow is a RyanAir destination
is its geographical proximity to the Ukrainian border. There are direct flights to Rzeszow from UK and Ireland and connecting flights from London to almost any other RyanAir
destination. http://rzeszowairport.pl

III. The Elements of the LVIVis2014
Teambuilding On the first day of the Summit, around one
hundred students from all over Europe get
together in the committees. These people,
coming from very different “backgrounds” and
having never met before, need to function as
a close-knit team pulling together rand
respecting each other by the end of the week.
Teambuilding activities are meant to prepare
the team for this challenge. With assistance of
the committee chairperson, the delegates in
committees engage in a variety of indoor and
outdoor team activities. Some of these are
physical, others - creative or problem solving,
but all of them are designed to get the group of
people to work as a team, create basis for open, productive and fair
discussions and shape the atmosphere of trust and support among the
participants.
Committee Work
Committee work is the core part of the
LVIVis2014.The delegates of a committee come
together, now working well as a team after the
teambuilding to discuss their specific up-today
topic. Their goal is to draft a resolution on this
topic, which they can all agree upon. The
principle of consensus is central to the EYP
method and it can be a huge challenge for the
group to reach a compromise in the end. Every
committee has got an EYP alumnus for its
support, who facilitates as a chair of the group’s
discussions and ensures that everyone’s ideas
are heard. The whole point of the resolution is
to reflect the ideas of the group as a whole, and
to make every member of the committee proud of the fruit of the committee’s
cooperation.
7
Open Space Brainstorming
Participents of the LVIVis2014 will be
provided with the unique opportunity to
experience innovative approach to
such an essential part of the
Committee Work as the brainstorming.
With the help of the experienced
committee chairpersons LVIVis2014
participants will be lead through Open
Space Brainstorming, which will allow every participant to contribute to the
resolutions on all topics that are of interest to them (addressing the needs of
the people that did not get into their first committee preference).
General Assembly
The General Assembly reunites all
the participants of the Summit to
consider the results of the committee
work. Each committee presents and
defends their motion for a resolution,
which is debated upon for
approximately one hour by the
Assembly. A voting procedure takes
place at the end of each event. The vote is based solely on the personal
conscience of each delegate. While it is true that the European Parliament
has gone on to discuss issues brought up by EYP resolutions, the main aim
of EYP is not to exert political influence but to enable the participants to
experience democratic decision making.
8
Evening Activities
Like all young people, the participants of
LVIVis2014 value the chance to relax
from the very demanding pace of the
Summit schedule and the evening
program is designed with this in mind.
That is not to say that it does not continue
the emphasis of the other elements of the
Summit, providing delegates with a
unique opportunity to learn about each other and the diversity of our
continent in general. Beyond the time given to general socializing, a number
of more formal events take place, which is presented in the following.
Eurovillage
The idea of the Eurovillage event is for all the
delegations from different countries to put
together their own stall to present local
products and culture. The presentation tables
usually include
a variety of
local food and
drinks, brochures, small gifts and other
national symbols. Quite often the delegation
even wears their respective national costumes
to make the event a colorful celebration of the
different nations of Europe.
EuroConcert
The talents of EYPers are varied, and in recognition of the many musically gifted among the participants, this event is a chance for these young participants to to show their talents in dancing, singing, performing and anything else that may bring joy, pleasure and astonishment to the audience! EuroConcert is yet again a possibility to explore and share the
diversity of the European culture.
9
Country Presentation Evening
The Country Presentation Evening
will provide each delegation with a
chance to showcase their national
culture and customs through song,
dance or other performances. Each
country will have no more than five
minutes for this performance, which
all together comprise a magnificent
showcase of differences and
similarities the nations of Europe.

X. Legal Note of the 'European Youth Parliament – Belarus' sessions
This legal note is to make sure that you understand the rules and regulations of the sessions organised by the 'European Youth Parliament – Belarus.
The European Youth Parliament does its best to provide sessions at high standards.
Interesting guest speakers are invited to the session, the resolutions are being sent to the European institutions and governmental bodies, and the session topics are selected with great care.
It therefore goes without saying that the participants of a European Youth Parliament
session are expected to behave adequately to the high standard programme of the session, not to overindulge in alcohol, not to consume any drugs during the session, to smoke only in appropriate places (smoking areas), to strictly follow the orders of the
session organisers, to take part in all the activities of the session programme and not to leave the session venues without explicit approval of the session organisers.
• Please be aware that the participant will be CHARGED for ANY DAMAGE he/she causes. This first of all concerns the hotel rooms where delegates are accommodated.
• There will be no alcohol provided by the EYP-Belarus at any events during the session
programme. As young ambassadors of their countries, participants of the session are expected to understand that we would not wish their stay in hosting country to be upset by their own misbehaviour or that of others ruining their experience. Participants are
expected to take active participation in all events of the programme. Therefore EYP-Belarus highly discourages the participants of its session from consuming alcohol during the session. Should the session participants decide to consume alcohol in their free time
they should remember their national legal requirements. EYP frowns upon overindulgence. Generally, any OVERINDULGENCE in alcohol will result in participants
being excluded from the session and SENT HOME at their own expense. •EYP operates a total ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY TOWARDS DRUGS.
•The participant has to fully comply with the law of a hosting country.
Any violation of these rules leads to the immediate exclusion of the participant from the session without any reimbursement of the participation fee and at the own costs of the
participant.
I (name, surname) ________________________________________ have read and understood the Legal Notes of the 'European Youth Parliament – Belarus' sessions. I
understand that the responsibility for not complying with the abovementioned requirements lies on me.
