—>A US Based Auto Finance Firm Product: FICO™ Blaze Advisor® business rules management system Challenge: The Client required an update of Blaze Advisor®—the rules engine
used in its Loan Origination system. However, inherent implementation com-plexities arising from the technique to populate decision metaphors from the da-tabase, intermittent calls to the database from the rules flow, updated folder structures & deployment methodologies, and changed release management techniques all drove compatibility and certification issues to the target applica-tion server preventing a successful update and migration.
Solution: Infosys and FICO consulting teams jointly developed a phased migration plan of Blaze Advisor® 5.6 onto the application server with the 1st phase as a proof of concept. After a successful migration of phase 1 and validation of the proof of concept, the team introduced a big bang implementation and success-fully upgraded the application. Additionally, as a value add, the application infra-structure was upgraded to WebLogic 10G3 to ensure application certification on the server.
Benefits: A combination of core product skills from FICO coupled with the imple-mentation knowledge of the Infosys team increased time to market for Blaze Ad-visor® 5.6 and ensured application infrastructure compatibility for future re-leases.
—> A Leading Retail Pharmacy Chain Product: FICO™ Blaze Advisor® business rules management system Challenge: The client lacked systems or processes to create a single view of the
customer coupled with the inability to deliver consistent, timely and relevant messaging to the customer across all channels of the enterprise. As well, a need existed for a centralized rules engine to identify opportunities; deliver them to external systems for processing and, finally, pass the data along to a data ware-house for reporting and analysis.
Solution: Infosys assisted the client in a tool evaluation process and jointly choose Blaze Advisor as the centralized rule engine supporting consistent, timely messaging, a centralized view of the customer, and opportunity identification. Upon evaluation, FICO and Infosys jointly developed a robust Systems Architec-ture and a detailed Workflow Process. Finally, Infosys was tasked with building, testing, and implementing Blaze Advisor within the Client’s environment.
Benefits: Post-implementation, the client experienced enhanced relationships with healthcare customers due to more relevant, consistent messaging and com-munication, increased prescription utilization, and consistent messaging across all channels.
—>A Leading Financial Services Company: Product: FICO™ Blaze Advisor® business rules management system Challenge: The client sought enhance the proactive risk monitoring system for its
Structured Finance Portfolio as the current system required manual monitoring of assets; lacked any standard reporting system for asset monitoring; and con-tained no customizable business rules.
Solution: The client choose Blaze Advisor® to enhance and automate its risk monitoring system for the Structured Finance Portfolio. Infosys was involved in the end to end business rules management system Implementation—from Rules Harvesting, Design, Development, Testing and Deployment of Blaze Advisor®.
Benefits: The Blaze Advisor® business rules management system increased pro-ductivity by 30% when automating the Risk Monitoring System, decreased time to market by providing near real time decisions on securities, and reduced costs by $600k per year.
—>A Leading Credit Card Provider: Product: FICO™ Blaze Advisor® business rules management system Challenge: The client sought to decrease the time to market for releases and re-
duce costs using a “componentization framework” across the enterprise. Imple-menting a componentization framework requires an extensive use of Service Ori-ented Architecture as well as a robust Rules engine to support user control of processes and logic.
Solution: After a comprehensive Rules Engine evaluation exercise conducted by Infosys for the client, the Infosys team determined Blaze Advisor® to be the best fit for the client’s business and architectural requirements. As the client’s trusted implementation partner, the Infosys team designed and developed the necessary architectural and functional components to integrate the rules engine with the rest of the application.
