Company: TransAmerican Tours

Year founded: 1995

Bishop Ranch Location: Bishop Ranch 3

Business Type / Services: TransAmerican Tours provides the full range of corporate travel services. We specialize in working with small and medium size enterprises.

Business Approach / Philosophy: My business approach revolves around the good nature of interpersonal communication. I’m a people person. It is one of my strongest assets and something I definitely use to my advantage when dealing with my customers.

Biggest Challenge in Your Work: The biggest challenge I face in my work is to provide the consistent service I’m trusted to maintain regardless of the time zone my client is in.

Favorite Aspect of Your Work: Being the CEO, I have complete control over the way in which I handle my business. The aspect of my work I enjoy most is evaluating my customer’s needs and preferences and then making sure his or her needs are fully met.

Least Favorite Task: Paperwork.

Source of Inspiration: I am inspired by the people I do business with.

What Makes You Excel? Hard work. Plus, good people management skills and a focus on customer satisfaction.

Suggestions for Young Professionals: Work hard, stay persistent and whatever you do, don’t let your failures keep you down.

A Goal You Still Want to Achieve: I would like to set up a company based on Socio-Economic model, that is, one in which a portion of the profits are invested in the social good.

What is Your Favorite Pastime? As a founding member of many social organizations, I engage in developmental activities for the youth and the less fortunate.

How Do You Handle Stress: I like to jog in my free time. I’ve found that staying physically active really helps me cope with pressures of running a business.

Favorite Vacation Spot: I enjoy going to India, just because I was born there and going back brings about a sense of comfort I haven’t really found anywhere else.

Favorite East Bay Restaurant: Ike’s Place in Danville.

Favorite Music or Other Form of Art: Being a social activist, I’m interested in the art of public speaking. I think it’s amazing how people can become captivated by the use of a few powerful words.

Is There a Special Cause That You Support? A few years ago my wife and I started a group that now delivers 100 to 150 bags of sandwiches to the homeless every second Saturday. Also, I support social networking. I am involved with an organization known as GITPRO (Global Indian Technology Professionals Association), which helps to support new entrepreneurs and ideas.
