Children’s Ministries

DIG Kid’s MinistrySince September we have been working our way through the Bible! We have made our way into the New Testament and have been learning about the miracles, teaching, and life of Jesus. We have been talking in our small groups about the love that God has for each of us and what it means to worship God with our whole hearts. We are continuing through the New Testament and will be learning about the letters of Paul and the beginnings of the church!

Celebrating Christ UMC

Irene Keating, Lay Leader

We are such a blessed church and have much to offer to our members and the community. In June we’ll be hosting the only daytime vacation Bible school in town and we need many volunteers to staff it as we expect 500 or more children. Please sign up even if you can only help a day or two. Contact Rachel South for details or sign up at www.vacationbibleschool.com/christumc.

Last week was the Spring Board of Stewards meeting and we had over 80 members present to hear reports of what we’ve been doing the last few months. Steve Colson, guest speaker, shared his journey of giving and how to share Jesus with others. He gave us scriptures to use as we witness. Business included the vote to move forward with the establishment of a 2013 Capital Campaign Task Force and we turned in our commitment cards. We look forward to welcoming Graham Michel as our new Youth Director. Our church now has 3,203 members and around 980 giving units. We’ll gain another 70 members when the confirmands join May 20.

Thanks to each of you for your support of the church in whatever role(s) you fill. You are a blessing to Christ UMC.

An opportunity to make a difference

Occasionally in the life of our congregation, an opportunity arises to help out a fellow member. The help can be something as simple as a meal for someone who is ill or has experienced a loss in their family. Your Christ UMC Care Team is compiling a list of members who would be willing to help with this ministry. If you feel led to help and are willing to be contacted we would love to hear from you. Our goal is to have enough volunteers so that no one would be contacted often. Many of you have had your name on this list in the past and we would like to have you sign up again. Please consider this opportunity to help care for each other. Contact Theresa Lineberger at [email protected]
