    If you are concerned about items in your apartment for which you may be billed, or would lik

    extra assistance identifying cleaning projects thyou should sign up for a pre-closing apartment i

    spection. These 15-minute informal inspections whelp you determine what work you have ahead you. To sign up please email your apartment maager, at least 24 hours in advance. This inspectio

    is not the nal determination of damage billing

    Checking out is very simple. Clean yourapartment and remove all of your posses-sions, then come to The Woodside oce

    and turn in your two original keys (mailboxand apartment). DO NOT send keys to us inthe mail. Keys not turned in at check outwill be considered lost and you will be billedfor the replacement cost. When the oce isclosed there is a self check out optionavailable directly outside the oce. This ser-vice is oered 24/7.

    Mail Forwarding: Mail for apartment resi-dents is forwarded for 90 days to your per-manent address. If you would like your mailforwarded to a dierent location, pleasegive us that information at check-out. Mailfor returning residents will not be held untilone week before classes start.     Dont forget to: Move out ALL personal possessions from

    apartment. Settle all potential damage billing items

    with roommates (i.e. individuals takeresponsibility for any specic damages).

    Clean apartment completely. Take out ALL TRASH from apartment and

    put in the compactor. Check mail one last time. Check out at the oce/ use self check out

    envelopes (located outside the oce) andturn in both apartment and mailbox keys

    24-Hour Quiet Hours begin at 11pm on Monday, May 6th and end at

    noon on May 19th. Please be considerate of your neighbors who are

    studying and working hard to nish papers, especially when you have

    windows open. Quiet hours will be in eect through graduaon week-

    end. Noise violaons will be subject to University sancons. Good luck

    with nals everyone!

    Residents have the responsibility to leavetheir apartment in the same condition itwas in when the rst resident arrived in Au-gust. If your apartment does not meet ourstandards, you can expect to be billed forhaving our sta do the cleaning. Pleasenote that if our sta has to clean studentapartments, we have less time to make im-provements for future residents.

    Kitchen:Oven & Range Top: Turn o the electrical breaker rst!

    Clean the oven and stove top thoroughly.

    Clean the burner pans under the heating element.

    Clean under the cook-top (which is accessible by gently lifting it upo of the stove).

    Pull the oven away from the wall, wash the sides and sweep behindand below the stove.

    Refrigerator & Freezer: Empty out refrigerator and set on the lowest setting.

    Wash interior of refrigerator with hot soapy water.Etc.:

    Empty all cabinets.

    Wash walls, oors and inside of the cabinets.

    Do not wax oor.

    Bathrooms: Wash all mirrors, countertops and sinks, tub and showers thorough-

    ly.

    Wash oors and wipe down interior of all cabinets including the med-icine cabinets and shelves.

    Remove the shower curtain but leave rod.

    Wipe down walls.

    Clean toilet inside and out.

    Bedrooms: Vacuum carpet.

    Empty and clean all closets and drawers.

    Wash interior of windows and sills.

    Remove all pins, tacks, hooks, etc. from walls.

    Wash walls if needed.

    Dust all blinds, desktops, dressers and heaters.

    Living/Dining Area: Vacuum carpet and remove stains.

    Wash windows and sills.

    Dust furniture and heaters.

    Clean recycling bin inside and out.

    Remove all pins, tacks, hooks, etc. from walls.

    Miscellaneous: Shut and lock all windows.

    Turn o all lights.

    Be sure that the refrigerator is on the lowest setting.

    Double check for personal items.

    All original furnishings must be present.

    Lock the door when you leave.

    Clean o personal decorations from your apartment door.

    Turn in your keys.

    Remove all trash from apartment and bring to dumpster.

    Items that require cleaning or repair will be billed with a labor cost of$25$60 per hour, plus parts and supplies. Some repairs will requireoutside contractors, the cost of which are passed onto the responsibleresidents. All residents of an apartment are billed equally for damageand cleaning unless the responsible party agrees in writing to accept f

    nancial responsibility. This is done by signing a Student Damage BilAgreement, available at the oce.

    Below is a list which represents typical pricing for replacementcosts of selected items, however actual billed amounts may vardepending on replacement costs and labor. Residents are respsible for any damage incurred while they occupy an apartment,excluding normal wear and tear. Evidence of vandalism or willfdestruction of property may also be pursued through the UNHConduct System.

    UNH has the right to dispose of personal property left on thepremises after 28 days. Please make sure that you remove allitems during check-out. You will be billed for the removal and dposal of all items left behind in your apartment at a cost of $20 bag of items. When youre packing up and moving out dont foget to take your bike with you! Any bikes remaining on the proty or locked to the bike racks after May 20th, 2013 will be removand taken to the UNH Police.
